Just announced, The Fall will be playing Wakefield on October 20th at the Unity Works.

http://www.bandsintown.com/event/143408 ... e_from=127

I'll be there, Wakefield seems to be the closest they ever play to me now that they never play Sheffield.

Anyone know anything about the venue? I'd never heard of it before.

Ooh, yeah, Wakefield is do-able, I might go to that. There'll be a little Sheffield exodus. Don't know the venue.

Been open a couple of years since a refurbishment.

It's only a couple of hundred yards away from Warehouse23 where The Fall have played their last two Wakefield shows.

It can't be denied, I very rarely visit the city centre and live somewhere that is more Peak District than Sheffield. The western suburbs are nice.

It would be nice to put a face to the name. I'll probably be with my son and his Fall-fan buddy like last time at Warehouse 23, great gig.

As was Balne Lane Working Mens Club. They seem to put on great shows in Wakefield, maybe because it's just a hop from Prestwich.

Tickets go on sale today at 10am. Six and a bit months before the event. What could possibly go wrong?

They put on great shows in Wakefield cock, because it's a Fall town.

Always was, always will be cock.

Ten minute walk home cock. Marvellous.

Was a bit unsure about where Wakefield is. Just looked it up, 6 miles from my daughters house. Jolly good.

Unity Works, it's a grand old building with an ornate ceiling. The venue's on the 3rd floor, there's a lift (Steve Kennett had his photo taken in it).

Get tanked up before you go in though 'cos the beer's dear.

It'll be oreyt.

I was unsure where Wakefield is too, until I glanced beyond my monitor and realised it was outside my window.

If folks think Sheffield's a shithole...

There's normally a thick mist and general dull gloom around Wakefield. It is almost comfortably enveloping, at least, as long as one is just passing through on the train.

Is Wakefield a town known for its penises? Just wondering what's with all the cocks?

I thought the local town for penises was Penis Town, more usually spelled Penistone.

I lived there for 18 years and can confirm it is full of dicks.
