Thanks, it was only done on a cheap camera phone - wish I'd taken my proper camera that morning - but it came out shouting "album cover! album cover" at me

Alright, I've had a listen. I really like the primitive drum machine patterns and the 70's-Gary-Wright-style synth tones... good stuff (as always.) Fave cut: "Everyone Hated Infinity." :)

Cryptomoralist's capsule review:

"Was My Radar?" by Sleepless Beach Music

Track Ten: Is this a casio? Plodding drums and reedy keyboards, sounds kind of home made, jingly and could be soft background theme music to an 80s TV show. I see bouffant hair, garish colours and mullet hairstyles. Clocks in at just over two minutes, no vocal and a twinkly fadeout.

Just had a listen to this: ahhh... the 'fonk' returns. B) Lovely tones, lovely grooves... it's Sleepless Beach Music, back again. Fave tunes were "3219" and "Falling Stones."

capsule review: not really breaking any new ground relative to SBP past, but maintains the same high quality standard and unique sound we have come to expect from Jim. Well satisfied with my purchase.

Ooooh, thankyou :)

Very excellent, as fresh as morning dew... avoids turgidity, I wish I could do it... SBM makes it sound easier than it is. The people on the album cover remind me of 60's advertising art; good stuff.

I love at the end of 'Broken Shores' where there's an abrupt piano chord "plonk!" :D And the 'marimba' on 'Dreams For The Dead' is brilliant...

cheers :) thinking about it, it was the other album that could've been called "What Sunshine", I sort of have an idea about the next album, and I'm still working myself up to the song-based side project ...

Very shweet stuff, Jim. I especially liked Cool Horrors with its funky beats, and Curious Flesh was brilliant, it doesn't sound like what you've done before, and it is a great sound. Down On Instinct pleasantly reminded me of Bob Marley, vaguely. Good work.

Well, I've tested this one out in the car this afternoon, it's somewhat louder than normal but it works :) lovely heavy bass-y synths galore

I used to have a keyboard that had a fat bass synth tone setting on it called "Polysynth." I don't know what it's called on your keyboard, Jim, but you sure are using it to the fullest for the phat-ass basslines on this album. It's a great tone... B) Very nice and groovy songs, and another great album cover, too.

cheers guys, the phat tones were from a minimoog vst - "minimouge va" - quite versatile, don't think I've used it for something quite as bass-y before
