Album. mini-album, but album nonetheless.

as is Room to Live and Remainderer

Wise Ol' Man is an EP, it has remixes and such.

Slates is Slates. It wouldn't be Slates otherwise.

Pick any two tracks as two sides of a single - doesn't work.

Add anything contemporaneous to bulk out the length - doesn't work.

It's Slates. 6 songs. Weird vinyl size. U skinny rats.

I suspect that option would win by a landslide, which is why we can't have it.

EP.

Single > EP > L.P.

7" > 10" > 12"

Seems simple and obvious, and citing exceptions (e.g. 12" singles) and outliers (e.g. LPs that clock in under 24 minutes) does not change the basic formula.

I do not understand why that position is so upsetting to some people.

It is not like it was mastered at a speed 2.0% faster than intended or contains lyrics about Baghdad and analysts and such like, after all.
All we ever wanted was sanitary plumbing, straight roads, and a sense of belonging to a community of interest that could reasonably call itself civilized. (Charles Hayward)

4 tracks is ep
Any more is album.

Please please me is 32 minutes long

I bought slates with that killing joke 10 inch live album

But I'm not correct according to the Wikipedia

While an album may contain as many or as few tracks as required, the criteria for the UK Albums Chart is that a recording counts as an "album" if it either has more than four tracks or lasts more than 25 minutes.[8] Sometimes shorter albums are referred to as "mini-albums" or EPs.[9] Albums such as Tubular Bells, Amarok, Hergest Ridge by Mike Oldfield, and Yes's Close to the Edge, include fewer than four tracks. There are no formal rules against artists such as Pinhead Gunpowder referring to their own releases under thirty minutes as "albums".

The Wedding Present's Mini is the subject of similar discussions on that forum; I don't care about that either :)

At least The Fall only expanded Slates to a single, hour-long standalone CD, The Weddoes turned Mini into 3CDs and the most useless DVD in the history of everything.

The Cinerama DVD (I forget what it was called) was even more pointless.

Not really. I just thought that, while the Slates EP/LP discussion was mildly diverting for a little while, it went on a bit.

Mmm, not normally what I would describe as 'not giving a flying fuck' whichever way you look at it :)

I don't think "mildly diverting" and not giving a fuck are entirely mutually exclusive. Anyway, I was just agreeing with GFR because he's my hero
