I am very sad to have learnt that Elvis Chomsky / Richard Smith is no longer with us.

May he rest in peace, the world would be a better place with more like him in it xxxx

Underneath all his combativeness he seemed a very kind person. This is very sad news.

Just grim.

He was expert at detecting and deflating any pomposity on here. Funny guy too.

Didn't he brighten this place up, it really is sad news.
He meant a lot to many, he'll be remembered (fondly) for years to come.

Obviously I didn't know the guy, owing to the brief period I've been on here, but even in that short time it was clear that he was held in high esteem by many; so my condolences to those of you who know him well and obviously held him in high regard.
