Oh yeah, Coxon likes that 'whooshing' sound. You can certainly hear it on 'Popscene.' Of course, he used ALL pedals, sooner or later... :D Tremolo on 'Oily Water,' wah-wah on 'Caramel' etc....

Ah yes. Saw them in Norway in the summer and they were actually very good. Played Caramel, Popscene and best of all Out Of Time

Back to PG, what kind of stuff does he use on Reformation these days? Has a very distinctive tone on that one i.e here Clapham

Well, it's hard for me to make him out through the murk there, but he's obviously tremming like a madman, and his tone is very 'bright.' He may be using a reverb pedal too.

Agreed. I think the old pic is out-of-date. He changed guitars, why not swop out some pedals?

I think I put a couple of pictures of the pedals up on the thread for the Kilkenny gig in August this year. You could chrckk them. Fl corrected one of my identifications. The gtrs come up quite regularly on eBay and they aren't wildly expensive. The problem is with the import duty/vat that is added on. Though now I think eBay try and get the USA sellers to try and work this out so that you know more or less how much the total cost will be

Agree with flex on the reverb. Although it seemed to me that was an amp reverb. To me the current sound would be gain/rev/whammy? The sound is 60s. Hard enough to get this with pedals alone so would like to know more about amp settings/gtr pick ups. Pity pete wouldn't do an interview or two

Just checked them out cheers. Must be an amp reverb... does it ever sound like he's using more of a drier sound? I suppose you've got to account for whatever MES has been doing to the levels...

Off-topic, but has anyone used the Hardwire RV-7? Reverse setting much good?

I'm saving up for that one! I heard a demo of the reverse reverb (it may be on YouTube) and it sounded pretty Ace. B)

had a listen on youtube

how does the reverse work i wonder

is it done with a sample? either an inbuilt sample or the pedal sampling your playing and quickly reversing it?

The reverse setting just swings it for me over the TC Hall Of Fame.

Got a MXR Carbon Copy Delay on the way also :)

As for how it works... not a clue.

Doesn't the TC Hall Of Fame also have a reverse setting?

Decided to buy one off Thomann. Just realised they say Lexicon on them! Made for you!

:D

Give us a review when it arrives, if you like. Maybe on another thread, though, there's plenty of threads about pedals...

Have my own line down to Boss DM 3, RC Booster, Boss CE 2 Chorus and Holy Grail Reverb

Just got rid of everything else. Thinking of ditching the Chorus pedal too.

And adding instead: learning how to play the guitar 'properly' lol

:D my policy is: don't use an effect unless you're unhappy with your straight tone... don't use them just because they're there. Certainly, as Marvell implies, effects can be used to cover up mistakes, etc.

Replaced a pretty terrible 'Antoria Telstar' with this a few months ago.

Sounds very nice actually, G5122, would love a Falcon like one of Neil Young's or a Country Gent but well out of my price range!

Very purty, looks similar to a Rickenbacker. Where'd you pick that up?

Musician's Friend (online store.) They don't have them anymore, as I found out when I went there looking for a pic! I got is partially because it is so Rick-like, although nowhere near as expensive. Mine only has two dials, as opposed to the 3 you see here, but it's basically the same.

I've got a strat re-issue, it's a MIM model but it sounds fucking lush plugged in to my Line 6 Spider IV amp, just on the clean setting with reverb. Sounds just like the guitars on R.O.D.

I love it
