Hey, no worries CT, thank you for sending your last album to me :)

The absolute stand out track is the opener; it kinda reminds me of Middle Mass. I don't know why, but if push came to shove, I'd say it has the same kind of schizophrenia, yet somehow coherence at play. I'd be tempted to include this number in a future MIU.

The other standout track is the guitar epic. What I like about this is that at the start it feels that the player is operating at the very limits of their ability, kind of like Craig Scanlon on Dragnet. but as the track progresses, the musicality improves (like Craig on Bend Sinister). I've certainly never heard anything like it.

[as an aside:I don't know if you are into videogames, but the comparison to Halo is not made lightly.]

Kitty says Hello lovely everybody, let's friend with music and Deadly Premonition.

I did put the first song on an MIU recently. I got a lukewarm reception (even though it was not recognized as being a stealth Farces track).

Eric is actually a very talented guitar player (and a tremendously successful attorney) who likes to contribute to FWM occasionally because he knows that he can be as sloppy as he wants and that that will only work in favor of the song that we create together.

I like "Hegelian Synthesizer" because I got to do an English accent for the judge and that is always fun for an American!

Anyway, the rest lot of you can catch the lp here:

Trust me, you didn't get to do an English accent.

Personally, I felt that the best of the vocal tracks was track 4. I liked the melange feel of it all. It was hard to concentrate on any one thing, but given the subject matter, I felt that was appropriate. It's kinda oppressive, but in a good way.

I also liked the vocal distortion on this number. For me, I'd recommend more of this.

So I am Remastering my old records so that they sound unproduced and unsweetened -- as much as possible like the original cassette / cdr versions.

I am going forwards in time starting from my first album in 1990.

I think it is safe to say that, for better or worse, there has never been a debut album quite like this one:

Very primitive and noisy, but, I think, also very unique and sweet and innocent. You can definitely hear The Fall, Pogues and Pixies influenes (and the Colt 45 influences) that I was working under at the time. This LP was recorded in the order it was written (last time I did that) and it all went down within a 30 day timeframe on a one hundred dollar budget.
