NEW YORK (AP) -- Published reports say the former personal trainer who has said he injected former New York Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens with steroids fainted while driving and crashed his car head-on into a bus in Queens. The Daily News and the New York Post are reporting that Brian McNamee told police he blacked out because of an ongoing medical problem. No information was immediately available from police early Friday morning. The newspapers say no one was seriously hurt in the crash Thursday afternoon on Central Avenue in the Far Rockaway neighborhood. They say it involved McNamee's Lexus, another car and the bus. The Post says no one was charged with any offense in the wreck. McNamee testified under oath before a Congressional committee that he injected Clemens with performance-enhancers at least 16 times between 1998 and 2001. Clemens testified that he never used steroids or human growth hormone. |
