Of course he's having troubles, it's an English motorbike, full of Lucas electronics. Well the Mikunis probably help...is it getting spark?

I think there might be a tiny reason they went out of business.

ok he is an older guy
yes its getting spark
he says its fouling plugs
he says it is a "hot motor"
the way he told me made it sound like those nasty old HD's
where you kick and kick and kick never to get it started and it will throw you leg back up
he says 10 to 1 compression
he also said the last shop he had it in put air plane fuel in it (don't know what that's all about)
He heard me start up Skull to take a run down the street after doing a chain adj on her I think he is hinting for me to take a look at it
I think he said its a 73?
Thanks

Ok I'll get as serious an possible wit a Norton.

Is it oil or fuel fowling>
If oil rebuild the engine
If its fuel
check the compression with the throttle wfo
If the compression is under 75 or so rebuild the engine
If compression is good
Is it still points ignition? If a solid state ignition has been installed put the points back in, check the advance mechinsum, check the timing and install brand new plugs If its still very hard to start fix the carbs.

The AVgas would be to stop pinging from either too much compression or bad timing. 10 to 1 in a Commando shouldn't be nough to require avgas but probably would require premium unleaded but bad timing or a sticky advance unit would. At Okieland altitude you may have to time it a tiny bit retarded.

I used to work with a group of young girls who called themselves the "Commando Friday Girls". I know this doesn't help but it'll give you something to think about in the shower!
