Can you "convert" a Unitas-based watch to a destro by simply having a watchmaker rotate the dial 180 degrees or is the dial "indexed" (or whatever the proper terminology is) so that it fits only one way? Please advise - Thanks in advance.

rotate the dial 180 degrees if its a base...Destro's have exact same movement as normal unitas equipped watches..In case you have a secondscounter at 9, youll have to get a new dial with seconds at 3 because rotating the movement 180 degrees will result in seconds at 3...So...if you have a base, your good to go...If not, you'll need to get a new dial or modify yours...Cheers guillermo

when my friend contacted a watchmaker he said that it couldn't be done (e.g., a base-type model without a seconds hand). That is why I thought that possibly the dial had a key or index of some sort which prevented it from being rotated. I'll tell my friend to try another watchmaker. - Thanks for the info.
