I've been out of commission for the last week. For those of you who have called and sent words of encouragement through my struggles, I thank you for that. There is nothing more powerful than love and prayers and they mean the world to me. For those of you who didn't know, my apologies but things escalated very quickly and I was unable to let everyone know. I became very sick toward the latter part of last week. I was sure it was just the flu and would run its course. Saturday evening things took a drastic turn for the worse and the two caregivers taking care of me called the ambulance. I was rushed to the St. Croix regional Hospital where they were soon able to rule out the flu and discover a very serious UTI that had gone septic in my blood. My blood pressure began to uncontrollably crash. They made a good decision to transport me to the University of Minnesota intensive care unit in the Twin Cities. They were able to stabilize my blood pressure over the next 24 hours. The doctors and nurses in that ICU were awesome and I know I owe them my life. That is a debt I also owe my caregiving family. At least one of them was by my side through most of the adventure. One also brought my dog home with her and helped him to enjoy the vacation from reality Have no doubt, I have the best team ever! I was released to return to my home Wednesday evening and today I have already been able to enjoy a 3 mile roll up the road with my buddy Banach. I felt truly blessed as I enjoyed a beautiful 35° spring walk in the fresh air of northern Wisconsin. God bless everyone.

Thank you and it sure has been a long time. The young lady we were working with has had a very difficult road but it looks like she may be starting to turn the corner for the better

Glad you made it through, Don. Thank God for hospitals and the Dr.s in them. But don't do it again. 21.gif

God continues to grant miracles and you are one of His best.  You will continue in my prayers.
