Hi,

I am looking to pick up an ASR for hip hop beats. I can pick an ASR-10 or ASR-88 for the SAME exact price. Both have scsi and maxed memory. Which one do you guys think I should get?

Thanks

If you need to lug the ASR to gigs or friends then you might hate the 88.
I seen em go for $500! However Im told the extra octives REALLY are good to have after you get good with the ASR10. You could also use the keyboard for keys because its a good keyboard. I like the synth action on the ASR10 but im selling as soon as an 88 comes along.

I dont imagine the 88 would be a good live rig unless your BIG dude or have helpers.
Its massive near 70 pounds?

Get the 88, you only live once!

Jay,

Other than the keys are all the other functions basically the same on the asr 10 and asr 88? Also what do you think is good price range for a good condition asr-88?

Shawn

PS its gonna be used in a home studio

Well if you can get it for $499? Iv seen em go that low on USA shipping +70$ USPS.

I have the ASR10 and want the ASR88 for a master controller.
ALso guys say the extra keys Really do make a big difference.

$499 would be the last ebay price (I dont think any one bid)

another big plus is the keys on the ASR 88 are weighted and are larger. In other words, they are identical to real piano keys. Compare and ASR10 keys to the 88's keys (if you can) and you will see a world of difference.

From the ASR service manual, they say there is a difference in the software for a ASR10 and 88, but they don't explain it too detailed. From what most people say that have used both, they don't notice any difference in functionality. So, the difference in software is negligible.
