but if you ever want to know about them, check WUS Chinese Mechanical Watches. As you know, China is bursting with growth, and the watch industry is also fast growing, increasing in modern western styling and movements. This particular watch is a 1964 reissued model by the Shanghai watch company. It is one of the very few Chinese watches which looks like a western style Mil watch with its black bezel. In 1964 they were given to the People's Liberation Army higher-ups. (I jumped to conclusions here: seems in 1964, a requisition was made for this watch, and in the early 70s -according to RON - manufacturing began )

These reissued ones contain the DG2813 movement, nothing really special and mass produced but quite accurate and I think hacking and handwinding auto.

Apparently the Shanghai factory makes them in batches. From what I have read, the first batch was sold out. The second batch was made but prices increased around $100usd to about $200usd, if you were to buy one at the factory.

Here is a link to Ron's info on the reissue.http://xtrememeantime.forumotion.com/ja ... -t4871.htm
