I found this one on my local Craigs list but cant seem to find out any info about it!
Seller says the backing has no markings and the only marks he can find on it are at the bottom at the 6:00 position which says: Made in France
He also tells me it's appx: 35mm in diameter and is in good running condition!
He also states that he believes the watch to possibly be from the 50s or 60s
Any ideas guys as I cant find any info about it or any pics of like watch!
TIA

........... >>> The company was founded in 1850 and it went thru a lot of name changes before it finaly became Waltham Watch Co.

They are mainly known for their pocket watches they use to make. Waltham closed its factory doors and declared bankruptcy in 1949, although the factory briefly reopened a few times primarily to finish and case existing watch inventory for sale. Several different plans were presented to restart the business, but all failed for various reasons.

In 1958, the company decided to get out of the consumer watch business completely, and reorganized into the Waltham Precision Instruments Company. All remaining watch inventory had been sold to the Hallmark Watch Company the previous year, and rights to the "Waltham" trademark were sold to a new Waltham Watch Company incorporated in Delaware in exchange for stock.

The Waltham Watch Company went out of business in 1957, but had founded a subsidiary in Switzerland in 1954. It is a full-fledged member of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH.

In the United States & Canada, businesses of Waltham are now owned by MZ Berger and Company, manufacturing cheap watches in China for distribution solely in U.S.A. and Canada, outside of the watch industry dealerships.

At one time, I was absolutely in love with the Waltham 60s watches.
This is my all time favourite...

Date/no date, doesn't matter; I just loved the Art Deco look of the dial

There were many case styles that had this dial and many of them had different hands; but they all looked great to me.
They seem to have all but disappeared from ePrey, so I haven't got one yet.

If anybody has one they don't want...

As for the one in your picture Rene~; it may not be an authentic American made Waltham watch, but it at least has the hallmarks of the originals

If it is less than $35, I would probably recommend you grab it
