1) M$ was wrong?! What's going to happen next?? Will the sky turn blue? Will apples fall down instead of up?
Never trust M$ to know jack about proper HTML. If you want to know valid HTML, use the W3C websites. www.w3schools.com/
Check this page, particualrly the "try it" link in the embed tag section. www.w3schools.com/media/m...sounds.asp
You can get away with closing the embed tag by ending it with [space]/> instead of just > (Just like the img, br, hr tags, and any other tags that don't need to be closed in HTML, but must be closed in XHTML.)
2) Yeah, I noticed some issues with using quotes and not using quotes. I can't try it here, but on the other board and in my HTML test, it seems to work best if you put the URL in quotes, but do not put quotes around the word "false" in "autostart=false". Part of the problem here is with ezboard. Most boards (including invision, phpBB, vbulletin, etc) don't display HTML properly when it's used in posts. I know vbulletin screws up table arrangements, and I know that in the early days, ezboard didn't allow quotes around URLs in tags.
Now I've got to go delete those stupid plugins so I don't get plagued with annoying audio on websites....
