Now I don't dare to ask what the improper way to make a bolognese is.

Well, with fish would be a good place to start. There is a lot of argument about what a REAL Bolognese consists of. there is no REAL consensus. I mix it up a lot. In this one I used a strong mushroom stock instead of beef consomme because I could do 8 oz of it instead of burning a 24 oz box of beef stock. I even make a white Bolognese which is to die for. learned it in Omaha of all places.

Oh, and I also used a product I never have before - ground pork WITH smoked bacon ground into it. Along with the pancetta I used it should be tasty.

Nah. You buy frozen, prechopped mirepoix. A buck a bag and the best bargain ever. I've compared it to hand chopped fresh and there really is no difference.

I won't be cooking this one more than two hours, but it is still 95% as good.
Nah, make your own and freeze. Cheaper, and you control the proportions. I find the bought stuff heavy on the onions.

Actually, Jolly, I used the trinity today - it was all I had. Just cut up and added some carrots to it.

Mac and cheese is nothing fancy, but it had been a long time since I'd eaten any, up until last night, that is.

Sometimes simple is better when it comes to supper.

Thanks! 3-4 hours of prep work for a total of 84 meals; and, I put the first one in the crock pot so it was done by the time everything was stored and the kitchen was squared away.

Now with each one, it’ll be time to gauge the cost-benefit of each recipe (some were more time-consuming and complicated) and make tweaks to the ingredients.

Looks fantastic!

How much do you want to put the whole lot in a cooler and ship it to me?

Well done, Aqua! Looks like you did all the prep, so you can just combine things and cook. That's brilliant. ?

What's in these bags? How big is your freezer?

Very small freezer; these bags, though, only took up about 40 percent of the space.

Each bag’s one meal, about four servings apiece. All kinds of stuff: stuffed peppers, porkloin wrapped in bacon (because why the hell not), fajitas, etc.

That is very cool Aqua. And the food looks pretty good.

Where did you get the recipes from?
