Yeah, it sure is a struggle!

I guess it's now more of an internal struggle for the Germans... When I was younger and travelling I sometimes got aggro for being German (especially in the UK, France and Holland) while now everybody seems way more relaxed.

I guess other nations see us as less of a threat while we still try come to grips with our past...

I heard recently Germans were voted "most popular foreigners" by the Dutch! What has the world come to!?!

reason for that must be the money they spend here..

Germany is a great country. It has it all. Nice landscapes, rough city life, immigrants, traditions, beerfests, good food, nice people.
Only thing I dislike is the dubbing....

It's a nice country as long as you don't live there!

But honestly - some of the 70s and 80s dubbings are HILARIOUS!!!
If you can speak the language that is - Prosperi's "Terror" in German is at least twice as sleazy!

When I was in military service we went to Aachen and to our surprise you could order beer at the local McDonalds.....plastic glasses it were but Ok....i'll never forget that.

I must admit that I always avoided German dubs in my collection although I understand the German language quite good.
Have seen my share of late night horror on ARD, ZDF, WDR and indeed the dubbing made it sometimes really hilarious.
I loved the New years eve Dracula flicks on German telly

There's one on eBay for $300:

45 Euro + expenses would be more like it...
