Really, really cool. Now I just need to see the whole movie! Hey if WAYNON is still around here - how's the book about Polselli coming along?

VERY interesting! Looks like a summation of his later career: a mix of DELIRIUM and REINCARNATION OF ISABEL with a healthy dose of sleaze as seen in his sex films like OSCENITA.

Hopefully this will surface someday soon!

Just a pity this film still hasn't been release anywhere. I'd love to see it.
2019 AD. The only blog that survived the nuclear holocaust: EN LEJEMORDER SER TILBAGE
The ONLY site in the world devoted entirely to trashy Filipino war flicks: When the Vietnam War raged... in the Philippines
The FLIPSIDE of Asian cinema: Backyard Asia

Mania was shown in Rome at "Trevi" cinema a couple of years ago.
It was also announced on dvd, but its release has been deleted.

Fantastic to see the trailer crawl out of the woodwork, for sure! Absolutely fantastic trailer and an awesome pounding guitar score to die for!

As for the book, what can i say...it is still moving s-l-o-w-l-y forward but is kinda like pulling teeth! I have spent 12+ years (on-and-off, as money and discoveries dictate) working on it in piece-meal fashion and determined to do it virtually alone. However, it has got to the point where i am feeling very frustrated and thinking of maybe encouraging support in the way of contributions from outsiders. I have had some help here and there that has been greatly appreciated (certain kind and generous souls who have supplied scans, etc.) and my good friend Massimo was instrumental in the first years in getting the project going and without him and Renato it would never have gotten through the early stages and added meat to its bare bones. Other than those 2 and a handful of small (yet important) contributions from true fans with a real passion for the project, i would be looking at maybe another 12 years!
I am missing a few poster materials, one or two early films in review form and of course MANIA is something i would dearly love to cover in the book after viewing the film itself if possible. A silly reason to hold off, perhaps, but the book is intended as much as a retrospective of Renato's career as much as it is an insight into the unseen treasures, etc.

But i have come across some wonderful finds in recent years and i can't wait until the book is finally done and published because i want to make alot of the materials available in some fashion for collectors to appreciate. I am hoping that my Renato Polselli Archive will be another means of preserving his legacy as well as making such rare materials accessible...

But that MANIA trailer is a real delight and something that really put a huge smile on my face after what has been a horrible 5 weeks recently. My Dad has terminal lung cancer and wanted to visit friends in Ireland for what would probably be the final time. Was meant to be for one week, but he fell critically ill after 5 days and was rushed into hospital and diagnosed with Pneumonia. Considering one lung is entirely afflicted with Asbestosis and Lung Cancer and the other has cancerous areas, Bronchitis and now Pneumonia, with only 25% healthy lung tissue also affected by the Pneumonia, it was a scary time. The night he went in i was told he could die at any moment. The next day, he entered Septecemic shock and we were told he was very close to death and it could happen at any time. Then, on the 3rd day he had shown some signs that he was fighting it and for the next week after that he remained critical but stable. 4 weeks in total in hospital and each of those days was spent making the 50 mile journey to the nearest hospital that could treat him and back again, as well as all spare time spent trying to work out a plan of action for getting us all home if he became stable enough to transfer back to England. A total NIGHTMARE 4 weeks that was, with the British Embassy offering no help and the NHS and other bodies back in England not helping. The Irish side were awesome, from nurses, docs, friends and other help. But the whole process of trying to figure a way home was like a military operation, with flights, oxygen, ferry, escort, etc. all needing sorting somehow but proving near-impossible due to red tape and other issues.
It took weeks of daily organizing to finally get my Dad, me and my mother and my Dad's car home safe and sound...
So....that MANIA trailer was the first thing other than seeing my son again after 5 weeks to put a huge smile on my face and a few beats in my heart!

Awesome stuff!

Quoted for substance.

That was some really introspective stuff, Wanyon.

Really wish you and your family the best.

Take much care.

Thanks Kenneth...
Seems the past 3 years has been one horrible year after another and the past 5 weeks was something else altogether.

But that MANIA trailer was definitely a tonic! What a ray of sunshine that teaser provided me!
I just wish whomever uploaded it would upload the entire trailer as the version i saw was cut off towards the end, and certainly not complete...
