Hi all, I just thought that I would let you know about some information I gathered whilst at the HH/Necromunda weekender that may be of interest to some of you.
After a small talk they did on Sunday, Owen Barnes and Jonathan Taylor-Yorke (the guys behind the reimagined Necromunda) were kind enough to have a chat with me about it. I didn't get a huge amount of time with them as it was towards the end of the weekend but here are some of the things they mentioned:
Firstly, the reason I thought to post on here. They specifically mentioned INQ28 and you guys as a big target audience. Whilst they are striving to bring as many people as they can into Necromunda, at the heart of it are people like you.
At the moment the game is a little basic from an RP perspective. They say this will change with Gang War 3. The third book will be focused on giving the GM of Necromunda campaigns more freedom. By the sounds of it, it will be closer to a tabletop RPG rulebook in the sense that it will have suggestions and expansions on some mechanics to allow the GM to give the campaign flavour, rather than rigid rules for X, Y, Z.
Less specific to INQ28 but I think still interesting. They are planning to expand to numerous areas on the planet, not just Hive Primus. That includes a Sump Sea, Ash Wastes and the ruins of Hive Secundus which is currently quarantined and infested with deformed feral genestealer cults.
They have plans to expand on the guilds as well. We saw some amazing concept art of guilders that more than once made me think INQ28.
Lastly, for modelling you will be getting a ton of new weapon choices for all the gangs. They showed prototype sets for the first three gangs, including a variety of flame weapons (my mind is all Cawdor so forgive me for not remembering others)
Of course, some of this is my interpretation so it may not be 100% correct.
Hopefully this is of interest to you guys!
Very interesting post, thanks!
I must admit I've not picked up N17 yet (didn't want the minis or play 2d, so waiting for a Compendium of the rules to - hopefully - be released later) but what I've read of the rules suggest there is definite potential for an Inquisimunda style expansion. Some of the characteristics on the statlines certainly suggest this, with several of them (Cool or Intelligence) looking like they owe much more to Inquisitor (54mm) than they do to 'old' Necromunda...
