Joined the forum today, hello!

Feel free to skip to the pics then come back to the wordy bit...

Reasons for joining:

- A lot of eblogger blogs I follow have people on this forum so I'm hoping to be able to interact and see more of your stuff first hand here!
- I have a sculpting blog called miniatures of the north, occasionally I sell casts but not for profit: only to cover the costs of the initial mold and break even. My day job is in the Investment industy as a senior manager so this will likely always remain a hobby (unfortunately, sob). Lately my hobby output has gone a bit stale so I hope joining a forum will spark my creativity.
- I drifted away from heroic style, notice I say heroic style and not heroic scale, a long time ago but do appreciate it and I want to dip my toe in have fun with it again.
- I have so many different sculpting projects on the go at the moment I want to just focus on one thing for a while, Inquisitor!
- It's now autumn so getting dark here in Edinburgh, grim dark...
- My style is a little too clean so I want to make it a bit more atmospheric and nuanced.

I own Dark Vengeance and that's literally the extent of my GW minis (owned thousands since Second Edition, sold most of it when I grew up, usual story...)

Luckily I've been sculpting pretty solidly for about 6 years now, starting off over at Troll Forged (Hi Malika! Top man). My bits box therefore constitutes nothing but sculpts, and I usually have to scratch build weapons and things... all good practice though.

Plan is to put together a range of mini's as if they were characters in a narrative play. More on this later, I'll periodically update this opening post, but first up onto some mini's:

Mechanicus

(some parts are from my pal at Anvil Industry)

Dark Mechanicus

Mock up for the Chaos Synaxarion: basically the mcguffin of the plot, a construct that channels chaos. The black plasticard will get a lot of work done to it in due course, and I think it will need some robed menials to escort it around!

Chaos goons

Traitor Commissar

Imperial PDF (or whats left of it)

Inquisitor

Bits

Test minis I did a while back (start of the project)

Pretty much everything here is all work in progress at the moment!

First of all, welcome to the forum!

I have to say that this is one of the most exciting opening posts I've seen in a while -- and given the generally stellar quality present on this forum, that is really saying something!

Your sculpted Skitarii are amazing! I also really love your additions to the DV models. And that picture with the painted concept models seems like a wonderful tease of things to come. I am thrilled to see this thread taking shape!

Your stuff is a true eye-opener! Especially your Chaos Cultists conversions are top ace.

Just wow. What an introduction! I love all the little changes you've made to personalise the DV cultists and commissar, and I can't wat to see what you do with the Synaxarion.

Woah, you've got some serious skills there. The Skitarii, as has ben said, look great. One question, do you buy in armatures for those models, or make them all from scratch, cause I imagine that would be pretty time consuming.

Welcome! Very impressive stuff. I've seen your sculpts before on your blog and really look forward to see what you do in heroic scale and with some GW bits.

On Neil's thread Grag noted the evolving phases of Inq28; first plastic WHFB characters were the rage, now it's all about Forgeworld resin. But maybe there's a smaller movement of mostly scratchbuilt models — so far mostly just Steifer and now MOTN but who knows who else is out there readying their first post :).

Woah, very nice! I really love the Chaos goons, and I've got no idea what to expect of the Chaos Synaxarion, it could become something totally insane! By the way, what colours will the Chaos guys be getting?

Good gravy, that's some excellent stuff. I particularly like the Dark Mechanicus with his huge hat.
