I stopped by my friends place this Saturday late morning for a bit of plinking.
The sun was out for the first time in weeks and it was a really nice day.
I have my good old faithful 850 177 on CO2 in the van along with
a few full AS tanks and a lot of pellets.
I thought I'd be up there alone, but he showed up at around 11:00
and joined me plinking out over his side yard.
We went through over 500 pellets and a LOT of Shoot n See's.
We eventually started using printed targets, bottle caps, spent .22 long casings
and eventually the match sticks came out. Our bench rests were sacks of feed,
they work really well I must add.
We were only shooting at 35yards, but we had a blast. Ended the day
with a few beers and a really good BBQ .... life sure is grand <img height="14" alt="wink.gif" src="/images/wink.gif" width="14">

It has been a long time since I have even had a chance to shoot. What a great day it sounds like you had. Especially like how you went thinking you would be shooting alone and then he made it. And ofcourse BBQ at the end - Yummy!

~GOD BLESS~

Roland,

Well good news is I am in the same place I was since I have last posted here. Still have the 850s and still have not installed the spring kits. Bought a nice blue lami R9 that I haven't shot since I got it. Same old air gun collection sitting in cases.

My son is now 13 and we seem to be diverging from our normal shoot every weekend routine. So that explains why I haven't had any bench shooting time or hunting time.

Picked up a bass boat in Feb. and it has been great with a few needed things here and there. So we have had lots of time on the water. Been recovering from some chronic migraine headaches so that has been lots of time out of commision for me. Goty a great deal on some shotguns (powderburners)and have been teaching ben how to shoot his first shotgun so that has been lots of time (lots of smiles too!) Business trips here and there which start on the weekends so that has been time. And my good old faithful paid for car has needed a little weekend TLC for a few projects here and there which, yep you gueseed it, has been lots of time.

I say all these things to myself to make me feel better about not shooting. I bet it has been since May/June since I have had some quality trigger time.

Then I read your post about a great weekend and it reminded me of just how simple it is really supposed to be!

please do not think I am complaining. God has belssed me in so many ways and I love every bit of what has been going on. So now I just need to be sure to squeeze in some bench time. I think it may be that Ben and I don;t shoot together as much anymore. But maybe he will come down to the backyard range and shoot with his old man every now and then. Then who knows we might even have some BBQ for dinner!

I am going to try and check in every few days or so to get my mind back in the game. Hope all is well with you and congratulations on having the 850 store!

GOD BLESS

john

Wow! I read my post from the other day and it sounds like I am ranting and complaining - not my style. I am sorry.

I hope to be around the forums a bit more.

Going to try and get some shooting in this weekend.

~GOD BLESS~
