I plan to attend the review meeting on Saturday, March 17th.

So if you've got feedback you'd like me to pass on post it here or send me a PM before 10 AM Sat.

(I can always email feedback after that, but the effect isn't as great as when it's read to the whole group of volunteers.)

I had a couple thoughts after the con, will have to try and remember.

On a somewhat related note, I was going to try and find out if there were any more COTN dice left as I didn't manage to buy any additional dice. Do you think I should just email the info@conofthenorth.com or do they have a yahoo mail group?

info@conofthenorth.org and info@conofthenorth.com both

go to the private Yahoo group for Magnetrons and select volunteers and liasons. Matt and I are both allowed membership so we can answer miniatures questions.

There is a public Yahoo group at: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/ConoftheNorth/

So either method of contacting them would work. (The "info" address would be slightly more private.)

But frankly if you just tell me how many you want, I can just see if I can buy some at the meeting tomorrow and get them to you at some point.

I would be interested in 2 more of the CotN dice if they have any left.
There's a time for joking around and a time to be serious; this is not one of them.

I sent an email to the info@conofthenorth.org address regarding the dice. We'll see what happens.

In the email I said would be interested in 8 of the dice, this would be for myself and the ones Matt is interested in.

As far as feedback goes I can't think of too much, things seemed to go well.

Small hotel related things:
The concession stand (such as it was) seemed to be low or out of food several times.

The bucket of onions at the concession stand was a pretty overpowering aroma to add to the mix.

Hotel table quality is poor. Many in danger of collapsing, some did collapse on others.

Good things:
Having the Aliens table area pre designated this year was very helpful for us being able to smoothly get started on setting up for the Rogue Trader Saturday night.

Overall things went without incident so that's always a good thing.

I didn't get any dice.

No one really answered when I asked if there were any more left...

But Don's Finance report says they were all either given out with regisrations or sold afterward. The "extra" sales actually made enough to pay for the whole dice order.

The idea of doing this on a regular basis has been put forward for consideration.

thanks for checking on that, Jeff. That's too bad they didn't seem to have any left. I was able to buy 1 extra at the con, so at least I have 2d6 worth.

Potentially having con dice for each year sounds like a neat idea. They were cheap enough that I think a lot of people would collect them each year. I don't know if demand would be as high for non-d6 dice, but maybe they could run through a whole polyhedral set (i.e. d4 one year, d6 the next, then a d8, etc). It's might be more expensive to custom-order things other than d6 though.

I'd think part of the considerations would have to be:

- Are they year-specific?

Do you have to store them (OK they're small) and clearance them like last year's t-shirts?

Or can you just keep selling the red ones (introduced in 2013) until they run out and introduce green in 2014 and introduce yellow in 2015...

- And by offering CotN dice are you hurting vendor sales and vendor relations?

If you charge enough of a premium for the dice ($1 for a d6 isn't cheap) that vendor dice are still cheaper, is there still enough interest in the CotN dice that they move?

Maybe the Source (or some other vendor) should offer CotN dice instead?

- Waiting years to collect a completely poly set one at a time seems unlikely.

I think the quantity of d6 they ordered was 1000.

I wonder what the quantity would have to be to get a customer poly set? And what would a set be -
d20, d12, d8, d6, d4?
d20, d12, d10, d8, d6, d4?
d20, d12, d10, d8, 4d6, d4?

And then do you have to have extra individual dice so that when you don't offer someone's idea of a set, they can build up to it?

Thanks for checking on the dice Jeff. A COTN poly set could be pretty cool.

I might have one or two extras I could part with if someone needed them.

WARNING: They roll really bad for me! I bought them just to game with at the con. I had a pair already set aside.
