"Top Discussions" daily email contains deleted topics

Would it be possible to add a check to the "Top Discussions" daily email algorithm to check if the topic still exists prior to emailing?
I noticed a few times these emails contained links to topics that have since been deleted (mostly selling / buying of concert tickets on our forum which we do not allow and usually delete within a few hours).

Would you please provide an example? I'll ask the tech team to look into this. Thanks.

I just can't see how the "top discussions" formula works at all - as I posted in another thread, ours contains links to posts that haven't been updated for more than a month, which looks as if the forum is inactive.

@Howdy I just forwarded an example email to support@tapatalk.com
The first topic in that email is a deleted thread.

just wondering...
is the topic deleted 'permanently' or just deleted? perhaps that can make a difference.

Sometimes we move the topic to a hidden sub-forum (visible for admins & moderators only) sometimes we just delete the topic.

are you aware that if you delete the topic it isn't permanently deleted? that requires an extra step in the admin section. just wondering if THAT makes a difference.

I've never noticed that. I'll look into it on my forum, thanks.

Edit: @shooterspages I can't find deleted posts or topics anywhere. Where would I find those?
