How can I see which posts I have NOT replied to?

I'm not sure if I can explain this clearly, but I have had a request from several members on my board for this function, so I am passing it on in the hope that you can provide a solution.

Members want to be able to quickly identify which topics/discussions they have NOT already replied to.

Using the Discussions > Unread option you see all topics which are
  • completely new with no replies
  • have had replies from other people since you last read the topic.
Using the Discussions > Participated you see all topics which
  • you created yourself
  • you have replied to
The vertical bar at the beginning of the topic line in a forum view disappears after you have replied to the topic, but reappears if someone else replies after you. Members do not always want to read the replies from other members.

None of those options allows you to easily see which topics you have NOT replied to.

Is there a way to do it at the moment (other than getting a notification of new topics)?

If not, is there any chance of the developers putting it on their list? For example, on the Freeforums boards, any new topic was shown in bold type. When you opened it, it changed to standard type, even if further replies were made, so it was easy to see which topics you had already read.

Can anyone answer this question please - even if it is to say "no, we're not going to do anything about it" - so that I can report back to my members? When it just goes unanswered it is impossible to know whether anyone from support has even read the question!

I'm pretty sure the admins here can't tell which they haven't replied to, either. At least it would explain why it seems like no one is having their questions answered lately.

That would explain something.

Why the read/unread/locked/sticky/etc. icons had to be mucked about with I really don't know.  Hundreds and thousands of forums used these and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF USERS were perfectly happy with them,  but no, we have to have a stupid side bar instead that takes away loads of quick to see info and adds virtually nothing.

Guess that is the price of improvement?

We use the Unanswered tab to keep track of thread that no one posted t yet. Is it what you looking for?

Whether or not it is decided to be addressed is another matter, but TBH I am a little concerned that such a basic - and well explained - requirement from the forum owners aagtje and WOC Moderator is not understood by tapatalk 😱

aagtje wrote: @winter No, that is not the same thing. The DISCUSSIONS - UNANSWERED tab (which seems to be missing here in the Support Group) merely shows all subjects/threads without any reaction whatsoever.
What is asked for, is a listing showing subjects/threads where the logged-on user has not placed a reaction but may or may not already contain other comments. In fact: sort of a reversed. DISCUSSIONS - PARTICIPATED list
It's not exactly that. My members want to be able to see which threads they have either read OR replied to already. As soon as someone else replies, it goes back to being "unread". On the FF boards, the threads stayed "unbold" once you had opened them. and as aagtje said, there was an indicator next to the thread that showed if you had posted a reply.

The Discussions - Unanswered, as far as I am aware anyway, is visible ONLY to moderators and administrators, so that wouldn't help anyway.

Thank you for posting the icon legend - that's exactly the kind of thing we are looking for.

The icons we formerly had on FreeForums showed both read and unread, and indicated whether or not you had already posted a reply.

PhpBB_icon_descriptions.png
That is the standard ICON set that comes with the prosilver theme that is installed by default on EVERY phpbb forum out there unless for some strange reason it gets removed afterwards (and these tapatalk forums are the only ones I have ever seen where it is gone).

Just don't get the logic behind creating extra work in order to achieve reduced functionality

I get the impression that TT developers don't understand that forums and the way members use them are very different from socila media apps.
