Yes, the comparison of Ephesians 5 and Colossians 3 are remarkable and it shows that the same author (Paul) wrote both. It also shows an equivocation between "being filled with the Spirit" and "the word of Christ dwelling in them richly in all wisdom." So, if you allow the word of Christ to dwell in you richly then you are filled with the Spirit. Singing boosts the indwelling word and promotes unity in the flock of God. In addition, husbands and wives can learn to have good relations between themselves. Here is another good point--that singing is vital to the spirit, that is to the word. It is the message that brings the word of Christ to indwell in all wisdom, and that is the same as the spirit indwelling. The spirit indwells then, through words and not through instruments, one could conclude.

The following table shows how one expression can be substituted for another--in regard to spirit and word. What is remarkable, I believe, is that those who say then walk by the spirit, often don't clarify that they walk through the word. This may be because they believe, actually, that the spirit is independent of the word.

<table border="1"><tr><th>Ephesians 5</th><th>Colossians 3</th></tr><tr><td>18 And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;</td><td>16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom</td></tr><tr><td>19speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; </td><td>teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and'spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God</td></tr><tr><td></td><td>17And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus</td></tr><tr><td>20giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; </td><td>giving thanks to God the Father through him</td></tr><tr><td>21subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ. </td><td></td></tr><tr><td>22Wives, be in subjection unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the church, being himself the saviour of the body. 24But as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their husbands in everything. </td><td>18Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. </td></tr><tr><td>25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;</td><td>19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.</td></tr></table>

Father, son and Spirit are not used as NAMES of PEOPLE but historic trinitarians all agree that names name. God wrote because he knew that the imagination of man is only evil continually.

Father who Conceives
Spirit who "breathes" out invisible power to the Son
Son is God's prophets who ARTICULATE His Word. Thus, the Son of God is the Word of God.
The Son SPEAKS that "Spirit" without METER as the Word most often means.

Again, father, son and spirit are not NAMES of People but names of aspects or attributes of the ONE God.

No historic scholar failed to be able to read the text and understood that NAME never applied to PERSONS (people) but the names of what was INTERNAL to the one and only God.

http://www.piney.com/Theophilus.Autolycus.II.html

You will say, then, to me: "You said that God ought not to be contained in a place, and how do you now say that He walked in Paradise? "Hear what I say. The God and Father, indeed, of all cannot be contained, and is not found in a place, for there is no place of His rest;
<font color="#FFFFFF">.....
but His Word, through whom He made all things, being His power and His wisdom,
.....assuming the person of the Father and Lord of all, went to the garden in the person of God,
.....and conversed with Adam. For the divine writing itself teaches us
.....that Adam said that he had heard the voice.
.....But what else is this voice but the Word of God, who is also His Son?

Not as the poets and writers of myths talk of the sons of gods begotten from intercourse [with women],
.....but as truth expounds, the Word, that always exists,
.....residing within the heart of God.

For before anything came into being
.....He had Him as a counsellor,
.....being His own mind and thought.
But when God wished to make all that He determined on,
.....He begot this Word, uttered, the first-born of all creation,
.....not Himself being emptied of the Word [Reason],
.....but having begotten Reason,
.....and always conversing with His Reason.
And hence the holy writings teach us, and all the spirit-bearing [inspired] men, one of whom, John, says,
....."In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,"
.....showing that at first God was alone, and the Word in Him.

note 46 The annotators here warn us against supposing that "person" is used as it was afterwards employed in discussing the doctrine of the Trinity, and show that the word is used in its original meaning, and with reference to an actor taking up a mask and personating a character.

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God,

That does not mean that Jesus LOOKED like God Who has no flesh or blood or bones. The WORD was IMAGED by God before it expressed itself in WORDS.

[Imago likeness epistle letter, epistle An image or likeness of a thing formed in the mind, a conception, thought, imagination, idea:]

God CREATED His WORD which cannot be ONE of the THREE people of the Godhead. God was the Father who begot the WORD.

the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

It was not Jesus but the SPOKEN WORD of God which existed as COETERNAL.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

That's why TRITHEISTS are out on a broken limb.

note47 Proforiko/j, the term used of the Logos as manifested; the Word as uttered by the Father, in distinction from the Word immanent in Him. [Theophilus is the first author who distinguishes between the Logos (cap. x, supra) and the Logos proforiko/j; the Word internal, and the Word emitted . Kaye's Justin, p. 171.]

Since the WORD was begotten by the ONE GOD, he must be "junior" and "inferior" as stated by the H. Leo Boles and LU dogma. Therefore, He was ONE with God only in the sense that they WERE FRIENDLY [John Mark Hicks]. ALL of the Bible and historic text PROVES that the WORD of God is His SON: we beget words when we "speak." The Spirit or BREATH is that which propels God's thoughts through His "double-edged sword" or lips. Of course, no one can think that a time existed when God did not THINK and did not SPEAK.

In Paul's thoughts: "Foolish people love to fool and be fooled."</font>

That's why "persons" is so confusing when referring to one in three.

Almost nothing in the teachings of Christ are not the ANTITHESIS of pagan gods and goddesses. History is clear that Dionysus was one god of the Jews: that began at Mount Sinai. "Person" is a word invented by the pseudo trinitarians. While "person" in the bible is the confidence or 'underlayment' God provides, it is never used of three "god persons." That's why neo-trinitarians have no historical scholarship to support them. Here is the reason Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: in Ezekiel 33 Christ names speakers, singers, instrument players and the audience. This was the mark of NOTHING MORE meaning that none of the actors intended to obey the words they sold and bought.

Persna
prospon and prospeion). A mask; an artificial covering for the face worn among many peoples in all ages of history and for different purposes, but more frequently in Greece and Italy. Scenic contests soon began to form part of the religious festivals in various Greek cities, and were celebrated in honour of other deities besides Dionysus.

The SELF PLEASURE which Paul outlaws in Romans 15 speaks against all of the hypocritic arts and crafts. That enabled the only "pattern" or "using one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning."

THE FOLLOWING DEFINES THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE "PROGRESSED" TO THE NEW-OLD WINESKINS WORSHIP: THEY HAVE ALL OF THE STAFF.

The actors called themselves artists of Dionysus, and in the larger cities they formed permanent societies (sunodoi) with special privileges, including exemption from military service and security in person and property. These companies had a regular organization, presided over by a priest of their patron-god Dionysus, annually elected from among their members. A treasurer and officers completed the staff. At the time of the festivals the societies sent out their members in groups of three actors, with a manager and a flute-player, to the different cities. This business was especially lively in Ionia and on the Euxine, the societies of Teos being the most distinguished. The same arrangement was adopted in Italy, and continued to exist under the Roman Empire.

You remember that Jesus called the MEN of that generation CHILDREN who piped hoping He would sing (lament) and dance: that meant that THEY intended to INITIATE Him into the Gay brotherhood of all pagan priesthoods.

When the flute players wanted to ASSIST Jesus in His healing ministry he cast them out with a word meaning "more or less violently as one casts out dung."

The "Father" figure (the old God of the Old Testament):

Kings and queens had a purple train and a white himation with a purple border; A touchy old man had one eyebrow drawn up and one down. The members of the chorus were masked and dressed in a costume corresponding to the part assigned them by the poet. (On their dress in the Satyric Drama, see Satyric Drama: the meaning of the BEAST in Revelation..)

Paul warned about the Old Wives tales and Jewish Fables or Fabulas: these included all of the Jewish and other pagan rituals using all of the Levites as SOOTHSAYERS. Eve was the Mother of the gods even in Greek myths.

From the time of Sophocles the actors in a play were three in number. They had to represent all the parts, those of women included. This involved changing their costume several times during the performance. The three actors were distinguished as protagonistes, deuteragonistes, and tritagonistes, according to the importance of their parts. If the piece required a fourth actor, which was seldom the case, the choregus had to provide one. The choregus [worship minister] had also to see to the position and equipment of the mute actors.

Didn't H. Leo Boles (LU) say they were ranked 1, 2, 3?

That is why Jesus could say THE FLESH COUNTS FOR NOTHING: My WORDS are SPIRIT and they are LIFE. The trinity had developed the Community Church" concept and the DRAMATIC worship services: they are called Strong Delusions.

The WORD of God is His SON and there are not THREE ACTORS.

The statements deserve a close look

Father, son and Spirit are not used as NAMES of PEOPLE but historic trinitarians all agree that names name. God wrote because he knew that the imagination of man is only evil continually.

Spirit who "breathes" out invisible power to the Son
Son is God's prophets who ARTICULATE His Word. Thus, the Son of God is the Word of God.

Again, father, son and spirit are not NAMES of People but names of aspects or attributes of the ONE God.

This spiritualizes the Three in a fairly concise way.

Add to this the 2 John 7-10 view that one must believe that "Jesus came in the flesh" and that this is the "teaching of Christ" can be added to your consideration.

Father is the one who begets.
Son is the derived Logos.
Spirit encompasses the Father and Son.

Prophets and Teachers are sons. All obedient Christians are "children of God." Jesus was the child of God.

Apparently, modalist monarchism was the view of the very early Christians, and accepted among the non-theologians. That is God is manifest in three appearances (modes). This One God is now Father, then Jesus, and finally Spirit.

The Platonic theologians from Greece would have none of this, and gradually ran out the modal view, and creedalized the Trinity.

These issues are important for one very good reason for restorationists--we are to restore the New Testament church, not the church of Constantine nor Augustine.
