The Great Modern Falling Away

Of course I am not a political conservative. I am a first century, new testament Christian. It seems quite clear to me, after much study and meditation upon His word, the two are exact oppossites of each other. Those who follow that philosophy, though they are with us physically when we assemble to break bread, are not in one purpose with us in God's service. Their hearts and minds are mostly with a religious political movement that is devoted to nothing more than bringing our nation back to what the world calls christianity.

Though we understand it is very difficult to restore those who have been caught up in such worldly controversies and we face the wrath of their righteous indignation for pointing out their error, with God's help we are obligated in our christian duty to make every attempt to bring them back to the one true mission God has given to his church, the spiritual and only one nation under God, to preach Jesus and him crucified to those few souls that sincerely seek Him and his truth.

No human philosophy, ideology, or political party has any place in the Lord's spiritual nation, especially those that have a religious element to them as has become the case with the political conservative movement in America. These days in a few congregations I visit, while home or travelling, their services feel more like a political rally than an assembly of the Lord's church.
