But now, since you, though little, have such glorious skill, sit down, dear boy, and respect the words of your elders For now you shall have renown among the deathless gods, you and your mother also. This I will declare to you exactly: [460] by this shaft of cornel wood I will surely make you a leader renowned among the deathless gods, and fortunate, and will give you glorious gifts and will not deceive you from first to last.

Now, you are free to learn whatever you please; [475] but since, as it seems, your heart is so strongly set on playing the lyre, chant, and play upon it, and give yourself to merriment, taking this as a gift from me, and do you, my friend, bestow glory on me. Sing well with this clear-voiced companion in your hands; for you are skilled in good, well-ordered utterance. [480] From now on bring it confidently to the rich feast and lovely dance and glorious revel, a joy by night and by day. Whoso with wit and wisdom enquires of it cunningly, him it teaches [485] through its sound all manner of things that delight the mind, being easily played with gentle familiarities, for it abhors toilsome drudgery; but whoso in ignorance enquires of it violently, to him it chatters mere vanity and foolishness.

I have updated to show that there are two "races" of people in Christianism:

1. The Logos or Word of Christ is a School (only) of the Word of Christ (only). Peter makes this more certain by listing the prophets and the prophecies made more certain as that which will cause the day star to arise in our hearts.

http://www.piney.com/2.Peter.1.html

2 Peter 2 defines those who "private interpret" or further expound as false teachers.

2. The Mythos (grace-centered as permissive versus the power to deny) is marked by ceremonial legalism including music which is defined as a feminine role and where males are involved it is the mark of real or virtual pederasty. Boy love. No old, ugly musical worship teams.

I have updated this to fill some of the ABSOLUTE "boy love."

Yes, girls can serve whatever their sex. When the Pope had to give up the cappella-fellas he had to resort to the old falsetto singers as in Hebrew music and ALL CCM. The songs had to be rewritten and the synthetic castratos never filled the bill.

For masculine women they also wrote "trousers songs" so the Ambi-sex singers are with us today.

But they ARE the meaning of Anathema: once they have made themselves as a superior gift for the temple they could NOT be redeemed and had to be burned.

I am still astounded: there are two or three very insane people who cannot even Cut N Paste Scripture without getting RACAized, OR we are witnessing something of Biblical Proportion.

Scripture makes it clear that there are two races of people and that might be the meaning of predestinated. Maybe a recessive gene since Satan wholly seduced Eve in a sexual sense and Cain was "of that wicked one" accounts for the difference:

The LOGOS or Word of God through Jesus Christ as the SOLE resource for teaching.

The MYTHOS race (vipers, crooked race) who cannot digest simple prose and presume to improve on God's Word by accompanying it with singing, clapping and playing instruments. Once you really get the picture fixed in your mind you understand that picturing God as a singy-clappy is of necessity beyond redemption. If you don't know that God is God and you are not you will not be able to find that little gate at the end of a narrow path made STRAIT by all of the viper-race making noise.

If you can't get it you cant get it because you can't get it and you never will.

God HIDES himself from the WISE (Sophists: speakers, singers, instrument players pretending to AID God.)
Jesus refused and refuses to pray form the WORLD. We are commanded to save ourselves from the CROOKED race of people. You have to conclude that we are spirits sent into the world to OVERCOME the world and not imitate the world.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Our Spirit like that of Christ in Jesus of Nazareth returns to the sender only if they have endured "boot camp."

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:
......for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
......and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Church is about seeking God: the only worship concept is to "give heed and diligently seek the mind of Christ." You cannot do that listening to those "of the world" from whom God hides Himself.

Luke 19:9 And Jesus said unto him,
......This day is salvation come to this house,
......forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Sons of Abraham WILL want to be baptized to become sons of God.

For instance,

1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation,
......a royal priesthood,
......an holy nation,
......a peculiar people;
......that ye should shew forth the praises of him
......who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1Peter 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:
......which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
1Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims,
......abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
1Peter 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that,
......whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works,
......which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Hebrews 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Hebrews 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out,
......they might have had opportunity to have returned.
Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly:
wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God:
......for he hath prepared for them a city.
Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac:
......and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Hebrews 11:18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

The HORROR of HORRORS, Jesus said that truth had been HIDDEN from the "world' and the "wise" from the foundation of the world.

The MARK used to SORT OUT the races is the LOGOS (Word, rational, spiritual) versus the MYTHOS (preaching, singing, playing) including all of the musical concepts which intends to "make the lambs dumb before the slaughter priest."

Once, that Go-No-Go has been performed Jesus commanded His disciples to shake the dust off their feet and move on. If they are "wandering spirits" seeking to go home they WILL understand the meaning of the "gospel":

The Deipnosophists of Athenaeus of Naucratis Book XIII: Concerning Women

It is a fact that even in ancient times they loved boys, as Ariston has said, whence it came about that those who were loved were called "paidika." For in truth, as Clearchus says in the first book of his Love Stories, quoting Lycophronides: "Neither in boy, nor in gilded maid, nor in deep-bosomed matron is the countenance fair if it be not modest. For it is modesty that sows the seed of beauty's flower." And Aristotle also has said that lovers look to no other part of their favourite's body than the eyes, in which dwells modesty.
"O thou of fair countenance, Galateia, with golden curls and voice that charms, a beauty among the Loves!" Blind this praise is, and nothing like that which Ibycus utters: "Euryalus, scion of the blue-eyed Graces...darling of the fair-haired Muses, thee did Cypris and Persuasion of the tender eyes rear amid the flowers of the rose." And so Phrynichus said of Troilus: "There shines upon his crimson cheeks the light of love...

Theophrastus, in hs essay On Love, quotes the tragic poet Chaeremon as saying that just as wine is mixed to suit the character of the drinkers, so also is the emotion inspired by Eros; when he comes in moderation, he is gracious, but when he comes too intensely and puts men to utter confusion, he is most cruel...
......Wherefore this poet, aptly distinguishing the influences of Eros,
......says: "With two arrows (verily) from the Graces he stretches his bow,
......the one bringing a happy lot, the other, utter confounding of life."
Now this same poet speaks of lovers in the play entitled The Wounded Man as follows: "Who denies that lovers live at hard labour? Why, in the first place, they must ever be on the war-path, their bodies must be able to endure toil to the utmost, and they must be most patient in pursuing their desire; inventive, impulsive, eager, skilfully managing the unmanageable, in utter misery while they live!" And Theophilus in He Liked to Play the Flute: "Who says that lovers have no sense? Surely, it must be somebody whose make-up is stupid. For if one take away from life its pleasures, there's nothing else left to do but die.
......Take my own case; in loving a harp-girl, a little maid, haven't I sense, in the gods' name?
......In beauty beautiful, in stature stately, in art clever;
......just to look at her is pleasanter than working for you all the time when you have the price of admission."

Ken said that "God HIDES himself from the WISE."

Then what about Solomon? Wasn't he wise? God loved Solomon enough to grant him wisdom, and God was pleased with Solomon's request. God was pleased because Solomon asked for wisdom instead of worldly riches.
Confused again Ken?
