Peter said that the prophecies by the Spirit OF Christ had been certified by Jesus of Nazareth. The Apostles (only) were the executors of His Last Will and Testament. The eye- and ear-witnesses selected and guided into Jesus in the role of Holy Spirit (a state: not a people) and validated by Signs and Wonders. The left their PART of the whole for our MEMORY. Peter said that this was not subject to private interpretation. The Word of God is like a DOSE of medicine from the Great Physician and anyone who tampers or even unseals the MEDICATION is branded as a false teacher. Paul went further and said that He did not CORRUPT the Word which means SELLING LEARNING AT WHOLESALE which is ADULTERY.

To SANATIZE the one-way transfer with the means of eternal life Christ in Isaiah 58 says that it is NOT FOR SALE: That would make one a prostitute. The only way to safely handle something OF God is to PREACH it by READING it for comfort and doctrine. Paul did not sermonize but he DIALOGED. The learning process is to first get the FACTS from an authority and only then can you discuss it and make it part of your own mind or spirit. Without that untampered knowledge will you be able to find the LITTLE gate hidden by the massed multitudes trying to hide it.

Here is what you CANNOT do in tampering with the Word: if you think that you should INTERPRET it then you cannot be a Disciple who shuts up and reads or listens.

The Spirit OF Christ defined the future REST of Messiah for the church both inclusively and exclusively. He positively outlawed all of the hypocritic arts including rhetoric, singing or playing instruments. Jesus affirmed those prophecies so that A Church of Christ is built upon or EDUCATED by the Prophets and Apostles.

2 Pet 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Many (most) are called but few (almost none) are chosen. Chosen means that they have been tested and proven: that does not mean because they have anything to offer but because they are receptive to God and His Word. It is becoming increasingly painful but clear that God does not speak to the Wise or Sophists: Preachers beyond the sacred pages, singers, musicians or actors. That is why the Word of God is not directed to a clergy which Jesus died to remove but to disciples. Early on those who had a bound volume of the Old Testament or the separate documents of the gospel account or the letters sent to be READ. History notes that the earliest synagogues and churches had these documents. They were not chained to the pulpit to keep them from being read but those who were interested could go and read the rare texts.

Chosen also means "chosen" as in selected when picking out a baseball team in school. They are electable because they have an interest and urge to play baseball.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him

Those who DENY that Scripture is relevant for OUR CHANGED CULTURE make certain that no one gets a chance to SEEK GOD revealed in His Word. I have run across few clergy or elders who obeyed the direct command to "Teach that which has been taught." If you stop to make DOGMA as a list of WORKS OR ACTS you may not be able to read a thought pattern beyond a proof factoid.

I appreciate Donnie's Summaries:

We have noted a sequence in 2 Peter 1 which is pretty easy to follow.

FIRST: The Spirit OF Christ (The Rock, Manna, Pillar, Water) or how the ONE GOD THE FATHER breathed into or INSPIRED the Prophets. These are called the earlier prophets or those who left a record.

God did not send Kings, Kingdom, Temple, Animal slaughter or Levites acting as exorcists: these came with God's abandonment BECAUSE of instrumental Idolatry of the Egyptian trinity

Jeremiah 23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Jeremiah 25:4 And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
Jeremiah 26:5 To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;

SECOND: Jesus of Nazareth made THESE PROPHECIES more certain. Peter and other eye-- and ear-- witnesses left us a MEMORY of the PROPHECIES and the CERTIFIED prophecies.

THIRD:THESE CERTIFIED PROPHECIES RECORDED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT IS THAT WHICH NO ONE CAN FUTHER EXPOUND by Rhetoric, singing, playing instruments or acting.

This is NOT a lie for those who read 2 Peter 1.

Notice that both God's WORDS and GRACE are made flesh as TEACHING. God is not diminished when He sends MESSIAH as His righteousness and justice: His right ARM or right HAND.

[color=#0000FF" size="4" face="times]Sarge,

You just reminded me to remind viewers and serious students of the Bible that through the years Ken has diligently studied the Bible and has prepared extensively researched materials for our use and reference. (Now, don't ask me where he's stored his accumulated wealth of biblical knowledge, of history and worship cultures, etc.)

He's prepared to answer anything "you always wanted to know about ... but were afraid to ask." Just ask about:

-- Calvin and his theology, as well as his following
-- Alexander Campbell and other RM leaders -- what they believed and taught
-- Certain specifics about the Restoration Movement and music
-- Musical idolatry
-- Musicology
-- Synagogue vs. temple worship
-- Prominent change agents in the brotherhood (Shelly, Lucado, et al)
-- Tithing
-- Baptism to receive forgiveness and a holy spirit (clear conscience)
-- . . . just to mention a few.[/color]

Donnie: did you get to watch your elder brother brutalized this morning.

And don't forget Clay Tablets: I have posted a simple text version of the important translations by permission. AFTER the fall into instrumental idolatry of the Egyptian-Babylonian trinity or Families of Gods, Moses wrote an INVERTED version of God who created mankind to SERVE THEM and not to be served at the towers of Babylon.

I am trying to organize my probably 4000 documents: the first part is to eleminate the many duplicates. I have a 32gb chip which would probably hold the key documents. I don't know how permanent CLOUD is but probably no longer than you pay them. Netnation is my present server. I am working on getting you a copy before it is too late.

Moses is called a prophet and he skipped the abandoned Israelites and wrote of ANOTHER PROPHET like me who WOULD BE HEARD. Usher was roughly correct using the date 4004 which does not begin the history of the UNIVERSE but a history of God's separating and protecting a small remnant. The city states in Mesopotamia were the first to try to collectivize the minds and property of the masses: Musical performance was then and now the way to COLLECTIVIZE all of the minds of the ticket-holding audience so that the good, bad or ugly can inject his views into the "lambs made dumb before the slaughter."

I believe that Jesus did His important work OUTSIDE OF THE LAND OF THE JEWS. He denounced them over and over because He was the SHILOH Jacob pointed to when he told everyone NOT to attend the assemblies or enter into covenant with Levi.

We have shown the evidence that "vocal or instrumental rejoicing or self-speaking" was outlawed for the Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness. It is also excluded in the New Testament to make the study of the Word of God possible and effective.

We have also looked as the PRAISE with instruments which included the idea of making yourself look foolish. Psalms 107 notes the difference. Artists were all more Bible literate than any preacher who LUSTS to musically mock Jesus.

<font face="arial" size="4"><font face="arial" size="4">There is a difference between praise a god on a harp and praise Jehovah for His qualities.

Ps 107:30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Ps 107:31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Ps 107:32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation [synagogue] of the people,

ex-alto , ?vi, ?tum, 1, v. a. altus (postAug.; mostly eccl. Lat.).
I. To raise, elevate, exalt: deus alia exaltat, alia submittit, Sen. Q. N. 3 prooem.: TERMINOS VETVSTATE COLLAPSOS, Inscr. Fabr. p. 748, no. 555: solium, Vulg. Isa. 14, 13.
B. Trop.: exaltare, Deus, be praised, Vulg. Psa. 56, 5: vocem, id. Isa. 13, 2 et saep.
II. To deepen: fodiunt (sulcos) et exaltant in tres pedes, Col. 3, 13, 4: sulcum, id. 3, 13, 9: orbem ablaqueationis, id. 4, 4, 2

The praise in the assembly of the Elders is different.

and praise him in the assembly [sit down to judge]. of the elders.

That would be something like the sanhedrin where they tried and MOCKED Jesus meaning with musical noise.

H1984 hâlal haw-lal' A primitive root; to be clear (originally of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence to make a show; to boast; and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; causatively to celebrate; also to stultify:(make) boast (self), celebrate, commend, (deal, make), fool (-ish, -ly), glory, give [light], be (make, feign self) mad (against), give in marriage, [sing, be worthy of] praise, rage, renowned, shine.
