Like most preachers, Bob Williams believes that animal sacrifices with instrumental music and choirs making melody IN the Temple was God's pattern for worship.

During the capptivity he says mostly the Rabbi or Pharisees began to REJECT instruments for the synagogue because of cultural or other reasons.

He says -that Christian Worship was patterned after that of the Jews.

If that is true--and it is a common error--then our failure to imitate God's original pattern for the Temple is probably not based on Scripture.

I affirm that I know of no preacher of any wing in the church of Christ who has any knowledge of the Old Testament beyond lifting isolated proof texts.

Corrupting the Word is selling learning as retail: I worry that you can do that without Jesus sending you strong delusions.

Just to keep things moving and gain a few normal readers, I have reviewed the first chapter of a book by James Wood which is the adult curriculum of the 21st Century Christian.
This teaches predestination and Polytheism (trinity) which has bathed LU for a long time. This is a quick review because my recliner is calling.

Did you say "gain a few normal readers"? How do you expect to do that when it is run by not so normal people?

Negatives attract positives: you need a bit of acid between!

Dave must have some affinity for those whom he calls not-so-normal people; he does quite a bit of posting at their site. But then, not-so-normal is Dave's term for anyone who disagrees with him.
