Hello, my son just got his grandfather's 1960 Studebaker champ. It has an 259 v8 engine from a 1961 Lark. It threw a rod. ANyone have a similar engine for sale or any suggestions on a repair?

The 259" engines are dirt-common, but most used engines are suspect condition. Back in the bad old days, I've patched up similar junk for the cost of a rod bearing and it limped along for years. To really rebuild it, figure $3,000. How handy are you and he?

I ask the same question Jack asked, because distance can determine freight costs.
