I checked out the two 2R5s in a Stockton, Ca wrecking yard yesterday. Quite a bit of both trucks is still on them, but most the sheet metal's pranged. One nice drivers door on the green one.
Only one wheel was with the two trucks, and since it's a 16", I decided to save it. It's available if anyone wants it - for a modest fee, of course.
I also came away with two pairs of outside door handles - one early style (with elongated bezels) and one with shorter bezels. They're available too.
Isn't that a little far from your home? Anyways thanks for being on the look out for trucks in wrecking yards and sharing that with us. I have a Pick and Pull close to my place that I prowl about looking for that proverbial needle in a haystack. Pick and Pull has a search engine on their website but of course there is no listing for Studebaker, so the only way to find one is to do an actual physical search. I did come across a Champ one time with a full flow V-8 and 3 speed o/d tranny. Of course when I returned a few days later with tools, someone had already beat me to it.
