The day was just starting out, all the students heading to their classes, leaving the cafeteria, ambling along, trying to be late for their math, their PE... whatever they hated most.

At 10:31 AM, all hell broke loose in first period. The school shook, students started to feel ill, and then they... changed. Parts of the school changed. The only students that survived were the majority of the senior year class and a few juniors and sophomores. Most of the faculty survived the initial outbreak, but that doesn't mean they survived their recently transformed classrooms, ripped apart and ... assimilated.

Somehow, a few managed to stay alive...

A brown furred, red haired bespectacled male cat was sitting at the teacher's desk, dressed in a white button-up shirt with a red tie and khaki slacks. There was a bit of blood on his shirt.

This was Tyler Laker, one of the few surviving teachers. In fact, he was the school's best and brightest history teacher. He treated his students like respectable adults unless they were idiots. He was teaching his small freshman history class, which was an elective. Five students turned into some strange, cybernetic zombie monstrosities... and now five students laid dead on his favorite carpet, bested by his genuine prehistoric Clubba Clubba caveman club knock-off from MacBeth's seedy marketplaces.

Funnily enough, this club was in two pieces. It wasn't built for skull-crushing.

He sipped his coffee casually. He had been hearing screams this entire past hour, so he'd put on some elevator music to help drown it out. Worst thing to do in these situations was bolt out and panic. He'd seen movies like these...

He'd wait for a real survivor to come knocking on his door before he left. Just before he locked it, he had put a note on the door. "Yes, I'm alive. If you're alive, knock three times."

Another teacher, this one sitting in the Teacher's Lounge, was in a moment of panic. She was a bat, her name Akiya Saka. She adjusts her black framed glasses a little and adjusts her white blouse and navy blue skirt. She peers out the window, her heels clicking on the floor as she does so. Afraid that they were making too much noise she slips them off, running barefoot for the time being. "Of all the days I decided to wear this," she says angrily to herself. Unsure if she was the only survivor or not she decides to make a plan on how to escape.

" Communications offline, weapons offline , Engine unrepariable great what are we going to do?"Asked one Blue fox with purple hair her seafoam green eyes studying the many display panels. "Your asking me?" The other figure a greyish blue Vixen/wolf named Alex.

"Thank you miss Obvious." Alex remarked.

The closet the Hybrid was in was Dark and cold, the only speck of light being the faint one under the closet door from which she came in. Outside she could hear the crawing of legs from the insect-life beasts, unaware that there was still a live one amongst them. She felt her chances of surviving were slim to none in this building, she had to get out. But she was to afraid of these things....

Even before encountering the aperoids, The fox hybrid named Sarah had a small fear of bugs to begin with. She was hoping that someone would eventually come to look for her, but the odds seemed pretty slim with how many students had succumb to the parasite's influence. But with all these danger's floating around, the only thing that she could think of was her friends and her daughter back home....

Lifting her head up from her arms for a moment, she reached down her shirt to pull up the old locket around her neck, and opened it to see herself along with her daughter, Ruby, from the first day she brought her home. "*sniff* I'll be home soon honey..."

Nobody was knocking.

No footsteps at the door.

Tyler stood up, looking for something to use. Desks were a little heavy, but... it'd be a good temporary solution. With a grunt, he lifted it and carried it to the door, opening it. The hallway appeared to be clean. He heard something behind him, though...

Some strange combination of insect, fox and undead. With a loud yell, he brandished the desk and accidentally threw it. Sure, he killed the monstrosity, but he nearly threw his arm out. He wasn't a particularly muscular fellow.

"Need something else..." he said, going back in and settling for a textbook. "This'll do. Now, I just hope I'm not the only one alive here."

The bat girl waits with her sensitive ear pressed up against the door, trying to hear if there were anymore monstrosities in the halls. She barely made it into the Teacher's Lounge and locked herself up, she didn't want to barely make it out. Satisfied that there were no sounds she silently unlocks the door and walks over to the fridge, grabbing a 12 pack of soda. This would work as a great bludgeon or for 12 soda grenades. ;3

"Serena Scann the Cargo bays." Kursed said to the holgram....

"why the cargo bay Kursed all we have down their is warthogs with no ammo for the chain guns.

"Something we would have gotten by now if the aparoids hadn't invaded." Alex grumbled.

"We can go out and search for ammo later and maybe guns for now we'll have to sett with the melee weapons." Kursed noted grasping her currently uncharged staff.

Ramiro somehow ended up in Corneria again, and somehow -- through a complicated enrollment program -- ended up being hovercar driver instructor at a local school. A school which a few hours ago became little more than a place infested with aparoids.

|=|=|=|=|

When it all began, he had been trying to teach a group of youth how to drive a hovercar. It was not very big nor it was hard to handle.

Most were doign fine, until one of them suddenly stopped. He thought the kid was being caprichous (he had been hesistant to take the course), but he soon saw the truth.
The fox started to convert into one of those things he saw in that Tar Strek movie: a 'Brog', or like that. Everyone started to panic and run when it expanded over the vehicle.

Good thing he had brough his handgun. As the aparossimilated student headed torwards another, Ramiro shot him repeatedly. It did not work, however. As the assimilated tried to reach the innocent, the robot removed the safety rig out of his pistol and threw it at the aparaoidized student, which blew up.

Tyler started to walk down the hall now. Maybe he should check the teacher's lounge, or other classrooms. He carefully went to the room across the hall and peeked into it. Full of those strange robot-insect-infested students... he closed the door quietly. Hopefully they didn't know how to open doors.

Teacher's lounge it was. He ran into another infected along the way and smashed his face in with the heavy book's edge. "Finally getting some use out of this." he said.
