Lest We Forget

Today is November 11; Veterans' Day in the US, and Remembrance Day in Canada. I'd like to remind everyone to take a moment of silence today to remember those who lost their lives in the name of freedom.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Yea, thanks to all of our veterans. Although hey cant read this, I hope others tell them personally. I dont have any grandparents that served in the millitary. One of my cousins is in the National Guard. Somehow he's in Iraq protecting General's quarters... not sure how a National Guardsman ended up with that job.
So what, I'm a Star Wars geek?!?

Thanks to all the veterans....I had a granddad that served in the Air Force, and he just passed away recently.

Not only thank you to the veterans, thank you to the families who supported them during their time of service. Behind every veteran is a loving family who got them through tough times and followed along behind. My dad is a vet and my mom is a wonderful person for supporting him and teaching my sister and me to support him as well.
