((Rein Bumgarner continued from Missing Those Lost))

Rein had managed to do pretty well for himself in the past few days. He hadn't starved, been stabbed, or fallen to one of the many nasty creatures that apparently inhabited this island. He hadn't even seen a hint of a bear, though at times he'd feared it was following him. Probably just the strangeness of the situation, the unreality of being so far from home, in this crazy death match.

But now, he'd found this wonderful place to wait until things calmed down some. It a nice, big building, with lots of boxes. None of them were open, and they seemed pretty useless overall, but that was okay. He didn't need usefulness, just a place to rest.

The announcements had been odd. A mixture of horrific and relieving. Carol and Simon were dead. Gary, though, was still fine, still out there somewhere. Since different people had killed Carol and Simon, Rein surmised that the group had been split at some point. Maybe that was why he'd lost them. Maybe they'd all gone their separate ways. Besides, had he hung around, he might have been killed by Max or Reiko. Those were two people Rein definitely didn't want to meet.

He gave a sigh, leaned back against a stack of boxes, and waited. Not that he really knew what he was waiting for.

((Alex Jackson continued from Instinct))

Alex trudged up the small hill to the row of huge buildings. She was tired of being outside; maybe she could hide out here for a while. She’d run, run to save her life and left Roman and Jason out there. How was she going to explain this to her parents? Roman died right next to me and I did nothing to stop it.

She kicked a rock and sent it skipping up the trail in front of her. She watched it letting out a huge sigh, she was still here however. Still stuck on this island, trapped in this nightmare existence, finally making it to the door she sent a brief prayer skyward that there was nobody inside. She’d had quite enough of people randomly opening fire in her vicinity. She’d been sure Danya’s little experiment would fail, that her peers wouldn’t turn on each other. But turn they had and her misplaced trust in them had cost her, her brother.

She opened the door and peered into the dim warehouse. “Hello,” she called. “Listen if anyone’s in here I don’t mean any harm. I come in peace.”

Rein waited and waited. Time crawled by. He was ready to give up, to go back out to face the hell of the island, when, all of a sudden, he heard a voice, someone calling out. Someone else was coming, was going to be here. Maybe they'd seen Garry! The voice was female, sharing assurances that she came in peace. That was good. Rein didn't want to fight.

"Hallo," he called. "It's okay. I don't vant to hurt you either. You can come in if you like."

He had all sorts of questions for this girl. Maybe they could team up. Maybe Rein could do something again.

He wasn't at all worried that she could be being dishonest.

(Jessica Pentangeli continued from Instinct)

Jessica was wary about simply wandering inside of the Warehouse. She would have said something to Alex, but she kept quiet. She looked behind her as Alex opened the door. She seriously did not want someone wandering behind her. Jessica turned back to the door. There was a voice inside the room, she heard it. He said he didn't want to hurt them. That was... comforting.

"Uhh..." She said, rubbing the back of her neck. It was honestly pretty awkward. Alex kept quiet the entire time coming up here, and Jessica wasn't sure how to gauge her. How could she? She didn't know what to say, or at least what to say that would make what happened any better. Besides, Jessica knew that if she opened her mouth she would screw it all up. So she kept quiet, mostly, and slid inside of the door to the warehouse. She saw the boy immediately, keeping her rifle on hand. She didn't point it up - she really had no reason to do so anyway.

She waved. "... hey..."

Alex stepped fully into the warehouse at the voice's invitation. She looked around the carvenous room that was filled with boxes, and wondered what happened that people just wandered away from things like this. She smiled glad to have something to keep her mind off Roman, at least for a little while.

"Umm, where are you," Alex said walking in a slow circle. "I'm Alex and Jessica is coming shortly. Thanks for letting us hang out in here for a while. It's crazy out there, people are just opening fire for no reason. Not that I suppose they need much more than the kill or be killed speech we got on the first day. Still you'd think people would be better than that. Wouldn't you?"

Alex stopped talking realizing she was rambling and then sniffed as her first thought turned to how much it annoyed Roman. "Don't you ever breath," he'd ask her after a particularily long explanation. She'd just grin at him then and somehow all was forgiven.

((Gary Griffith continued from False Hope))

This time, Gary couldn't keep up his pace even for a ten minutes. He made so much runs in the last few days, he barely had any strength in his legs, especially without some proper rest.

So he just slowed down, started walking and marched through the forest once again. Rachel probably didn't even think of following him, which was good. Crazed killer or not, she meant trouble, especially because Death really liked following Gary ever since the very first day.

And speaking of the first day... After several more hours of walking, Gary stepped out of the treeline, only to see... A warehouse. The very same, he woke up in after being knocked out by the terrorists. The memory was still fresh. He met Trevor Duncan, a bit weird fellow, but ultimately a good guy, as he tried to defend Gary from Simon Telamon, even if it was just a misunderstanding. According to the announcements, Trevor was dead already. Yet another victim of Gary's curse. Then, there was Teo and Nick. A pair of killers, trying to finish off both Gary and Simon. Surprisingly, Gareth never heard about anyone of them killing anyone yet, but their threats sure looked real, and they were the cause of the first of many sprints in Gary's adventure during those last five days.

And there he was again. The first full circle made. Maybe out of curiosity, and maybe out of exhaustion, Gary slowly approached the building. There was a chance, that no one was inside at the moment, so maybe he could rest there for a bit. A slim chance, but always a chance... Unfortunately, as he was close to the doors, he heard a female voice coming from the inside. To stay completely on the safe side, Gary took the position by the doors from the outside and listened. There was no way he was going to end up in the middle of a possible argue...

It didn't take long for the girls to take Rein up on his offer. That was good. They sounded friendly enough, and he could use a little company, something to break up the monotony before he went out into the chaos again. Maybe they'd even seen Gary. Maybe they could help Rein search for his friend.

"Hallo," he said in response to the girl who entered the warehouse. "And yes, I haf seen some of the things you describe. A girl killed herself for no reason, and I lost my best friend somewhere. Still, I tink that most of our class is good people."

Rein pushed himself away from the crate he was leaning against, smiling broadly, and took a couple of steps towards the door through which the girls would come, trying to look as nonthreatening as possible.

The crate in question was a couple of feet way, which was fine with Jessica. The further he was, the more comfortable she was. But then he pushed off of the crate and it made Jessica's blood turn cold. Was he coming over to them? Oh, she hoped he didn't have a gun. Or a knife. A knife wasn't so bad was it? All she had to do was shoot him... unless he made the first move.

She was just being paranoid, Jessica concluded. Yeah, just worrying about things for no reason. The boy looked pretty friendly. Or at least it felt like he was trying to pretend to be friendly. To put them into a damn trance before he guts them. Yeah. Okay. She was really paranoid, but death was still on her mind and every shadow, every object look like it was ready to bear it's fangs and pounce. She had a reason.

Her hands tightened around the rifle. She didn't lift it though. She wasn't sure. She still had doubts. Besides... she had Alex on her mind anyway. She looked over at Alex again, biting down on her lip hard. The accent was... making her nervous. No offense to the boy in front of her! He seemed very nice, even though it was making her more nervous than comfortable, but the accent was the cherry on the top. She looked at Alex, then over at Rein. Then back again to Alex.

"... yeah. Good people." Why did she want to scoff herself when she repeated that?

Alex raised her eyebrow and threw a look at Jessica. What’s up with her now? Alex shrugged and turned her attention back to Rein. “I don’t know about that so much anymore. If you’d asked me a day ago I’d have totally agreed, but now…now let’s just say things are a little more real then I wanted them to be.”

She sniffed and hid the tears forming in her eyes by turning her back on them and walking to a nearby crate. She took a moment to get herself back under control then perched on one of the crates and looked back at them. Setting her bag beside her, she began to dig through it. She came up with a couple pieces of bread, frowning at the fact that she only had a few pieces of it left.

“You don’t mind if we just chill out here for a while right? We’ve been running for quite awhile now and I need to catch my breath,” she said with a smile.

Alex finished her snack and lay down for a little nap in the quiet of the warehouse. When she woke up everyone was pretty much where she'd left them. Sliding off of the crate she shrugged, shouldering her pack and headed out of the warehouse.

(Ugh, I'm really sorry but I need to get Jessica out of here really quick.)

Jessica turned back to Alex again. She was seriously nervous of this boy - it was way too much. She kept trying to tell herself how she's might just be getting way too paranoid about this, but she couldn't make it sink. When Alex made a move to leave, Jessica shot her head up. Was she leaving? Again?

"W-Wait up Alex!" She called, trying to catch up with Alex.

(Jessica continued elsewhere...)

The girls left. Rein wasn't quite sure how to feel about that, but it had happened. There was nothing for him to do but go back to his position, leaning against the boxes and trying to figure out what to do. He'd have to find Gary again. He'd lost his friend ages ago, but he would find him. He knew he would.

His wish was to be granted sooner than he imagined.

Gary blinked as the girls left, and strained his ears again, trying to pick up another hint of that voice he'd heard. It had sounded like Rein, but there was no way it had been. No way. He'd lost his friend days ago. Convenient reunions didn't just happen like that. Well, okay, maybe this didn't quite count, since he'd scoured the island top to bottom in search of Rein, but still. It could be nothing more than wishful thinking, sleep-deprivation catching up in the form of delusions.

He almost turned away.

But no. He had to check. He had to know.

Slowly, carefully, he pushed the door open. It was dark inside. There was a figure, though, leaning against the crates, a figure with familiar posture. It was Rein. He'd done it.

"Hey," Gary called. "Hey, Rein!"

Without even waiting for a response, he charged his friend, slamming into him and pulling him into a hug.

Unfortunately for Gary and Rein, the stack of crates Rein was leaning against had not been positioned according to protocol. In order to make the area more traversable, Danya's prep team had stacked a couple of crates on top of already precariously-high piles. Rein's was one of these. Worse still, the boxes moved to the top were full of heavy machinery. The ones of the bottom were flimsy cartons containing plastic screws.

Gary's force as he hit Rein was great enough to send the German boy backwards into the bottom two crates, hard. One of them cracked, spilling screws everywhere and giving way entirely under the force above it. The stack tilted and fell, the upper crates slamming into the nearby wall and rebounding to come crashing down right on Rein and Gary.

They never knew what hit them, as they were pressed to the ground and crushed under a couple of tons of engine blocks in boxes.
