Hello and welcome to Werewolf: a game of deceit, death, and murder most foul! It's a load of fun, real easy, and anyone can play! Some of you may even recognize it and know the rules, and all the better in this amazing game! Read on for more!

Rules
Basically the whole point of the game is suspicion. Each person is given a random role and each role's abilities, and from there anything can happen.

The game is played in turns that consist of two different phases.

There's a day phase that happens from dawn til dusk in game. This period lasts 48 hours RL. During this time all the players try to decide who the bad guys are by voting for them. Votes are done in red text. Whoever has the most votes after 48 hours is removed from the game.

The next phase is the night phase, which lasts from dusk til dawn game time. This phase lasts 24 hours RL. During this phase, anyone that has a special action to perform during that time does so via PM to the narrator (me). This is the phase of the game where the wolves would tell the narrator who they would like to kill.

After time's up, the narrators will post the opening of the following Day Scene and it starts all over again.
This continues until either all of the Wolves are destroyed by the Villagers -or- the Wolves reduce the total number of non-wolf players to equal their own.

Roles
Villager: You are a villager. Your job is to stay alive, and ferret out the werewolves. Gets the one vote a day as described. Your point is to survive and correctly point out the wolves.

Seer: Your job after nightfall is to PM the Narrator to look into the heart of the game. You may or may not want to reveal who you are as you will be a target for the werewolves to kill, and may be accused of being the fool. When you select a player, the answer given to you will be villager, fool, or werewolf. Also gets one vote a day. Your point of the game is to help the villagers win.

Werewolf: Your job after night falls, is to lie, deceive, and cajole the villagers into not voting for you. PM the narrator with your vote on whom to kill. The Narrator will PM you with whomever is the other werewolf (or werewolves) is (or are), so you can coordinate a vote, and send the narrator your final vote. If there is a tie between the werewolves, that the lycanthropes cannot resolve (as to who will be killed), simply PM the Narrator and there will be a tie breaker. Your point of teh game is to kill off enough people tio win.

Fool: Thinks he is a seer. Is told that he is a seer. When a fool gets his foresight; in the evening, he gets a random chance as to what he sees when he points somebody out. When he points to the Seer, he will always see the Fool, and visa versa. Also gets one vote. You also help the villagers

Baner: This person is the carrier of the wolvesbane. His job is to protect someone he believes is a villager, from the nightly killings of the werewolves. Same voting as other human players. Likewise helps villagers

Other Info
Each time you just have to put *points to (name of vote)*, but being artistic won't be burdensome as long as the above syntax is included.

You don't create a character really, you're playing as an in-game version of your z10 profile so the name will just be your screenname.

Every 'morning' I will post a description of who was mobbed, were-killed, etc. the previous day. I do think of myself as a good writer, so I'll try to give every death justice within my own creative freedoms. Feel free to give me advice, ideas, or actual deaths if you want.

The pace is usually pretty quick, so feel free to just drop a quick post when you don't have the time to type.

Inactivity is completely ignored, unfortunately, so the game continues to go on no matter what.

Yes, people can lie, make false quotes, pm lies, and do whatever it takes to win. The whole fun is never knowing the truth, so if you're a werewolf you can vote like a villager. It may not be counted actually, but it's always good to mess with other people. Villagers may lie about being the seer to other villagers to gain a mental immunity, trusts can form and be disbanded. Basically it's the crowd's choice to what happens next.

I'll start the game when I get at least 10 players. I'm hoping I can. It's too fun not to.

I did get this game from another site that some of you will be familir with, Giant in the Playground forums. A lot of the info up there is just modified from their site. Basically I was thinking it would be a really good game for here, if I could get enough players. Come and play!

Actually, I've played this game several years ago, with 'modern city theme' and drawing cards (ace=mayor/seer, jack=serial killer/werwolf etc.). It was fun as hell, so I'm totally in

And here I just got finished reading Doubt which is pretty much based around the same type of game.

I guess I'll join in, I was pretty kick-ass at that Cry Wolf game.

Mafia?

I'm lost.

Anyway so far we have six people, and it hasn't been too long since this was opened. I'm thinking of setting the start date for Monday the 20th, hoping that more pople will join by then.

I was just thinking yesterday about how this game and SotF are similiar. They both feature a group of people, periodical murder, random chance deciding on power, a set start date, and regular announcements. Werewolf is a lot like it, except has less one on one interaction, a little less personal choice, a definate fallback in creativity, and more enphasis on inofrmation and secrets than background. But werewolf does have quicker games and less complicated rules, making it ideal for new people/people waiting for the SotF game. All in all I think it fits well on this site.

About my earlier inactivity statement, I was thinking that that wasn't logical. Players could skid by unnoticed. I think it would make more sense to have players who don't vote for two 'days' (6 rl) straight eliminated.

Also if I do get enough players there's one more role I was debating about whether or not I should add: The masons, which are basically villagers that know each other and get certain bonuses if there are other masons around, giving them incentive to watch their brother's back and so forth.

I want other people's thoughts and opinions, as I've never run this game before, only played, so am a little nervous for an Epic Fail. Anyhing?

Let's not get so hasty, with masons, and all other new chars. I remember, that, when we (me and friends) added to the game another roles aside from Mayor and Killers (like Police Agents etc.) It turned out, that there wasn't enough normal citizens. So i say, if more than 10 people come to play, sure, let's add something else. Otherwise... Let's stay, at the point, we are now...

Just my 0.02 $

I apologize for my temporary death, I got way too busy with wisdom teeth, my job, and my wedding. I'm married now!!!

Anyway we have 10 members. Check your inboxes, for your position should be sent to you and waiting. Basically Day One will start tuesday morning at 12a and end wednesday night at 11:59p. Then Night One will begin at 12a thursday and end Friday at 11:59p. I'm thinking we take weekends off, as not everyone can post as often come the weekend so Day Two will start monday morning at 12a and etc.

Fun fun! Any suggestions and ideas can still be posted here until Day One starts. ALso if you want to start trying to figure out other's positions or lie about your own or form groups or any other fun stuff, go ahead and start posting intros early. Just no voting untill Tuesday.

@\/ Er... Good Point. I was't even thinking about timezones at the time.

Hm... I think I'm just going to make it easy for myself and make it Pacific Time. I really don't think it'll affect the game too much anyway, as most people won't be waiting to post until exactly midnight, etc. It might though, so I apologize if Pacific time is of any inconvenience.
