This is my first concept for a character in SOTF, and my first time posting, so let's see how it goes.
Name: Charlie Stone
Hobbies and interests: Charlie has a wide array of hobbies and interest, he loves indie music, listening to it almost all of the time, even trying to play some tunes on his guitar, on another side, he likes to play tabletop games with whoever is up to it, and enjoys most video games, RPG's preferred. He likes to go out, hanging out with friends or partying, as long as he does something interesting and fun, doing some kind of sport or going to the gym is also part of his life. Ultimately, he loves to read a bit of everything, that way, he won't be caugh unaware by anything mentioned in a conversation.
Apperance: For a boy, he isn't particularly tall, he barely reaches the 5'7 mark and weighting only 140lbs. He has brown light hair which seems to change color depending on the seasons, during summer it approaches a dark blonde, and sometimes it takes a more reddish approach. His face has a mix of sharp and delicate features, the latter ones predominationg. He has brown eyes and pale skin. He tends to dress in some simple looking clothes, primarily, a white shirt, blue jeans and black converse, accompanied by a neck chain.
Charlie is the only son from the Stone family, his mother, is a teacher and spends most of her time teaching students both from school and on their houses, his father, on the other side, works on a bank across town. Since he was a little boy, his parents demanded that he was the perfect son, excellent at school, with lots of friends and someone who could dominate any sport, and he did his best to defraud them. He was never sure if this was on purpose or not, but he hated the fact that his family always said that only the best end up being someone in this life, so he was never the best. The fact that he had respiratory problems didnt seem to help him, he could play any sport, as long as he didnt move much, if he did that, he would soon start to turn red and being able to breathe turned into a fight. Combining this with his lousy grades and the constant harassment from his parents and you had the recipe for a nightmarish childhood.
Somehow, during all this time, Charlie developed a simple system as to ignore everything bad that happened to him. It started when he grew apart from his parents, treating them with coldness and never bothering to check on them or even ask them how things had gone, and if they asked him something, his answers were short and sharp. Everything was easier now; he would ignore them and live his life as best as he could, playing various video games and reading as much as he could so his mind would lost in something else, with time he even stopped crying during those nights when he felt particularly unhappy. Yet, this attitude would soon extend to the rest of the boys his age, he would start to treat them like crap, and make an image of him as a bully. One night, when he was fifteen, all of this changed.
He had a dream or a nightmare, he never knew nor was able to remember, but when he woke up, his body and mind kept saying change, it is time to change. And so he did, starting with music, that was when he really learned about indie music, or rather, actually took the time to hear it, immediately becoming enthralled by it, next thing he knew, he had bought a guitar and did his best to play like the songs. Now, he had to change his attitude or make them think he had, so he lied and made it look as though he was a new person, he started to treat people with respect and hear them, advice them if they needed, and gain their trust. He was never a popular kid, but he didnt that either, now, he had a group which accompanied him if needed.
When people learned to trust him and were fond of him, he started to let out little hints of his real self, remarks he did, comments, not many, but enough to grow them accustomed to them, he started dating some girls, and after some time, they would hook up, then the cycle would start again, but never did he damn them directly, he would play the situation so that it didnt seem to be his fault. Why would he take all the time to act as someone else, to dominate a situation like this? His family could be the best answer, their approach to life, stuck on him in the end, even if he doesnt acknowledge it, as they said to him so many years ago, only the strong survive.
Advantages: Charlie knows how to lie; he does it as easy as some others take a deep breath, and this has helped him in the past. Since his childhood, he has spent much time reading, and while many things may be bullshit, most of them arent, and some extra knowledge, always comes in handy. Finally, he knows he cant do everything on his own and there is always someone else that can do it, it is all about finding that person.
Disadvantages: His breathing problem can come as an important problem if he has to run from somewhere, while he could keep going, chances are that he would black out or faint. He sometimes is very cold and is crude when saying something, this may seem harsh to someone and may give them the wrong idea.
