Oscar was sitting in his room, smoking a cigarette. His door was locked, the window open. Up until about a month ago, because of his older brother and his constant trouble making, his parents had never really looked twice towards Oscar's own habits. As long as he kept his grades up he could do whatever he wanted, really. But now, he needed to be much more careful.

After the crash happened, his parents kept both him and Rory much closer, almost like they were afraid that any day would be their last together. Of course, he could understand why. They had buried an empty coffin.

"Travis Webster"
"Beloved son, brother, friend."
"12/25/1992 - 6/14/2012"

Somehow, all of Travis' sins had been washed away. They forgot about the rather obvious use of weed, and potentially other drugs. They forgot about the calls from school, all the times Trav had gotten home drunk, and the girls he'd kept in his room. Not to mention that Oscar had thought the guy had been a total idiot at times, always arguing with his parents and just making things worse. Many nights had been spent listening to their shouting until finally... it had stopped all together, and it was only then he realized how much better the yelling had been.

Still... He missed his older brother. Travis was a tool, and often did rather dubious things during his free time... But Oscar cared for him, and he knew Trav felt the same way. He couldn't help but miss the guy, with that stupid grin on his face and his ridiculously carefree attitude. If Trav had known what was waiting, he'd probably have smiled and gone, "Huh, guess TSA won't mind if I bring some weed on the plane then? At least I want to spend my last moments in a nice state of mind". That fucking idiot.

He dried his eyes quickly. Travis was dead. That was that. It had been almost a month now. His parents had gone back to work, and Rory was enjoying summer vacation. They were all asleep now though.

"OH GOD! HUNTER! Oscar? OSCAR!? HELP ME!"

He snapped out of the daydreaming.

"Shit! Sorry sorry sorry, Riley!"

He was playing Left 4 Dead with some friends from school. He'd probably be asleep through most of Independence Day, but then, he didn't really care that much. He'd grown increasingly apathetic ever since Travis died.

"I was..... daydreaming."

At first, Oscar had thought George was playing some sort of fucked up prank on him. Telling him his brother was alive? The fuck, man?

When George ASSURED him that it was the truth, he thought that there might have been survivors from the crash! Maybe Trav had spent the past month hunkered down on some island, enjoying the warm summer weather and relaxing. Heh, he'd definitely regret not bringing weed if he knew of THAT fate. He lit another cigarette and smiled to himself. His brother could be alive.

He was rapidly linked to one of the many twitter-post saying "AURORA CLASS ALIVE". He was now shaking with joy and excitement.

Then he'd found one of the streams, also linked on the same twitter page. His stomach dropped. He was still shaking, but for a whole different reason.

"MOM! DAD! RORY! WAKE THE FUCK UP!"

Ingrid and Shaun Webster had still been asleep when Oscar began banging on the door like a madman, shouting his lungs out. Why was he swearing? WAS THERE A FIRE!?

Ingrid quickly flew out of the bed, threw the door open, and grabbed her son. Did he have a cigarette in his hand!? What on earth was going on? Anger and confusion filled her. This was not like her second-born son at all.

"Oscar, what is it!? Is that a cigarette!? YOU BETTER EXPLAIN YOURSELF, YOUNG MA-..."

That was when she saw the tears. Her son, usually so proud that he refused to show even a hint of weakness, was bawling in her arms.

"Honey...? What is it...?"

After it had been revealed that the entire graduating class of Aurora High had indeed survived the crash, things had gone downhill for the Webster family. At first, the entire family had thrown themselves down in front of the nearest computer to see what was going on. Once it was clear that Travis had been placed on this... island of death, every member had reacted differently.

Shaun had started drinking. Heavily. He'd go down to the nearest bar and not come home until the early hours of the morning, completely shitfaced.

Ingrid had, at first, followed the streams fanatically, taking several days off from the firm. Once she'd seen the things her son were up to, however, she did a full 180 and began going to work all the time instead. Several nights she had even stayed and slept at the office. She simply couldn't handle her "angel" doing the things he was.

Rory had started spending more and more time out playing sports, trying to clear his head and ignore the situation at home.

And finally, Oscar. He'd started having unhealthy amounts of energy drinks to stay up, making sure he didn't miss a thing.

He'd spend almost every waking hour following his brother's progress, often talking to friends on Skype who were watching as well, even though he could hear the awkwardness and the hesitance in their voices when Travis would come up. But that didn't matter to him. He didn't care that Travis had stolen weapons from the Student Council President. He didn't care about Travis trying to rob some giant ape for rations. He didn't even care about all the horrific things Travis had said, or done. It didn't matter that people online had started labeling Travis a villain, and even potentially a player. Even as he'd watched his brother laugh at the death of Naomi, Oscar still rooted for him.

He wanted his brother back, and he didn't care what means Travis used to ensure it.

It hadn't been easy back in Seattle. Someone had sprayed the word "KILLER" on their garage door after Travis Webster had scored his first kill. Nobody had bothered removing it. The entire family had become a trainwreck in less than a week.

Shaun had been arrested twice for getting into bar fights. Apparently bringing up Survival of the Fittest around him was a sure way to make Shaun lose it completely.

Ingrid had been sent home from work on day six. The office had claimed she was too distracted and deserved some time off. Now she spent all day in a dark room, lying in bed and bemoaning what a good boy Travis had been as a child.

Rory didn't want anything to do with his family, and had several times loudly exclaimed he was no longer a Webster, because everyone hated them now.

Oscar thought they were all weak.

Over the past week he'd been obsessed with the stream. He'd been watching it with some friends when Travis had made the first kill. He'd been close to tears, screaming for Trav to do something while he'd been getting choked out. After he'd cheered for his brother as he'd stabbed Matt to death, none of his friends wanted to watch it with him anymore. The only one who'd say why, Riley, said that he'd started scaring them.

Oscar thought they were all weak as well.

Who the fuck were they to judge Travis for his actions, or him for wanting his brother back? None of them had family on the island, so what the fuck did they know!?

Oscar wasn't weak. The ever diligent brother watched everything. He'd gone through several packs of cigarettes a day, and many galons of Redbull, but he was still here. He hadn't looked away for a second, even when Travis had ruthlessly executed Edgar. Oscar was a good brother, and a good friend.
