Finn flinched as a few specks of water splashed onto his face as Matt emerged from the pond. He wiped away the grimy water from his eyes before gripping onto Matts hand. With his second hand now gripping onto Matt, Finn pulled Matt onto the bank. As Matt clambered up the side of the pond, Finn took a few steps back in order to avoid the torrent of brown water that gushed out of the pond with him.
As he watched Matt get dressed, Finn nodded in agreement to Matts suggestion to go to the town. Finn wasn't in the mood for talking after what had just happened with Mara, so he didn't bother to oppose to Matts idea despite the fact that they should probably be staying away from the place that most of their remaining classmates would be heading. Then again, it might be a good thing that the town would be highly occupied. Surviving in this place meant eventually he would have to kill, and with so few people left, what better opportunity would there be than the hot pocket of students that would be taking refuge in the town? So long as Finn and Matt were careful enough not to be seen and they targeted people who were on their own, then they could pull it off.
However, Finn was planning this all without even asking Matt if he would be okay hunting down and eventually killing their classmates. Matt could turn out to be completely opposed to the idea and refuse to go along with Finn. On the other hand, would Finn really want to continue aligning himself with someone would seemingly throw their life away by refusing to play the game? If that was the case, then Matt would be no longer of use to Finn and he might as well continue on his own. Finn didn't really know how to come out and ask Matt to help him kill their former peers, so he decided to hold on and ask him later once he and figured it all out.
After Matt had moved his stuff into Stacys bag and headed out, Finn noticed that he had left her spear. He would never use the spear over his gun if he had the option, but it could come in handy at some point. Finn walked back over to Stacys body and picked up the spear that was lying on the ground a few feet away from her. There wasn't anywhere to put the large weapon, so instead Finn used it to support himself as he walked. It appeared that the spear was becoming more useful already; he wouldn't need to use Matt to help him walk anymore.
