I'm getting excited about this event--we'll be partying with people from 4 continents at once! (I'm imagining at least some Japanese players will be on.)

Any more EMS signups? I wonder if they would consider the weekly EMS Thursday concert one of the pre-concert events and publicize it that way. I'm also open to suggestions for our showcased 12 minutes or so of music--I'll double-check that figure.

I know its still early but was looking at the numbers signed up. Could we perhaps band together for the main performances to allow us to showcase some of the bigger peices firstly for the GHMS & then the EMS performance. Then when the battle of the bands is on we would need to break back into our groups and play some smaller peices. (depending on the number we both have) Just an idea incase we dont have many able to play. I may be able to 2 box on hubbies computer if we need more. (or get him to play! hehe)

Was looking though songs and thought the Chicken Polka arranged by Kept might be a fun one to do. Also has that great big band feel to the arrangement. Not to mention, one just has to dance! It goes for 3:34 mins.

I dont think I will be able to attend the before concert due to the time dif, but using the EMS Thursday concert as the pre-concert is a really great idea.

I am getting excited now too, was so much fun last year. Extremely crazy & nerve racking, but fun!

Yes I can hardly wait as well. This year I do think we need to wear identical outfits to make us stand out as a band. I think that was the one thing lacking last year that we can improve upon. I will look through some of our songs for some suggestions too.

I'd be open to sharing players and helping out myself with GHMS. It should be easy since currently GHMS is on at 5:00 and right after comes EMS at 5:20. Falibrand, what do you think?

I think the merger would be a fun idea...however, one thing I would keep in mind. There will probably be 200+ people in the area, meaning lots of lag. The more pieces you have in the song, the more risk you run having you song lag and not sound as smooth. I know a lot of this is dependent on client machines and memory, however, there is going to be extra strain on everyone.

Good reminder, Vydor, and I should have asked your opinion as well as Falibrand's--forgive me. Is there a maximum number of parts we should aim for? What's the largest band size you would attempt? I have not been able to attend past Weatherstocks.

We're aiming for 6-7 parts max in our selections. I'll start soliciting signups for our set this week.
