Unfinished Ending? (And Other Thoughts)

For those that have seen Ruby's ending, it seems to end after the rhino teacher calls our resident muscleheaded goon an idiot.

However, I noticed something odd about the pictures that Eniggy ripped. There are two extra pictures in his ending! See for yourself:

It can't be my emulated copy's doing, as Raichu (owner of the actual game) confirms that Ruby's ending finishes after the scene I mentioned before. This means that it was cut for some unknown reason.

Speaking of cinemas, if you look closely at the opening movie (Raichu's ripped it so you can run through it easily), you may notice that some of the pictures shown flashing by rapidly near the end look different than how they appear in the actual game. These scenes are detailed in the next post down.

So what do you think of all this?

For your viewing pleasure, here's a side-by-side comparison of the "odd" scenes as shown in the opening movie, and in the game itself.

Very curious. I'm honestly not surprised, considering many games have unused sprites/polygons/scenes hidden within them (like in FFVII, Aeris has dialogue after she dies, for some.. reason).

For some reason, I think that if Eniggy made a topic of the same thing, people would care more.

I am confused. You're saying that there are extra scenes not in the playable part of the game, right? Well, were are these scenes? Are they the ones in your first post? If so, I only see the one not in the pictures in your second post. And in your second post which one is the in-game one?

Sorry if this confused you. :kaedegiggle:

I was wondering the exact same thing. I'm not sure how Eniggy ripped those images (even the copious pictures of 2-dimensional course details such as sprites, signs, etc), but if she ripped them from the game (which I'm sure she did), that means those hidden images were still on the disc, even though they weren't actually used. How unique. :3

Most games have unused things, like sprites, textures and artwork, that were left in the game out of laziness. Coders and people who're good at ripping can find them... there were some un-used sprites in Yoshi's Island that were ripped by someone.

Here's what I think the ending would've been like if the scenes were intact:

                    1. At school, Slash tells the others how he can't believe someone like Ruby could win.

                    2. Ruby bursts in through the door in his new attire ("GOOD MORNING!").

                    3. He happily struts his stuff, to the other kids' annoyance.

                    4. The homeroom teacher comes in, wondering what all the fuss is about.

                    5. Ruby brags to the teacher, prompting a smart remark from Slash and Jam. Or they might've told him to put a sock in it.

                    5. Not one to take an insult lightly, Ruby flies into a rage and grabs Slash and Jam in a double headlock.

                    6. Ruby is then punched by the frustrated teacher, causing him to drop the dizzied duo.

                    7. He then lays the verbal smack down, and everyone laughs at Ruby's expense.
