I met a man once with a dirty hardhat, a pickaxe and a bucket full of coal. He also had overalls and a plaid shirt, a scruffy beard and thick steel toe boots.
Guys, this topic has a dangerous power sealed inside it. If we don't post at least 10 post in total within the following weeks before we get July, it will mean the end of society as we know it, and we will grow angel wings on our backs, get a muscle boost and overthrow the government. Therefore, we as the world's only hope for our world should act against it, starting now!
I haven't even come across a topic that was more controversial than this one. I'm actually quite surprised the topic hasn't been locked yet. I can see most anyone being offended in some way just by looking in here.

That is because no rules so far have been broken, and there's nothing really controversial actually listed here, just the saying "This topic is controversial" is just that, a saying. Until I actually see a topic that could provoke a firestorm, I see no reason to lock it.

Are you trying to say that nothing in this topic has offended you in even the slightest way? I don't know about you, but I am VERY offended by this topic's very existance! What, oh what have I unleashed upon the world?!?

I have to say this is my favorite topic, even though it offended me greatly in the past.
I'm amazed it's still here, honestly. In a recent poll, 50% of active users said this was one of their favorite topics. The other 50% were heavily opposed to this topic, with some rallying to have it removed from the site. It seems that the moderators here have taken the shaky middle ground, leaving it open but keeping a close watch on it.
That may be for the best. The controversy caused by this single topic is too big to ignore and it's influence can still be felt on the forums today.
