I just got a Passport Plus III for my birthday and ordered SBK2 straight away now that I can play it on my PAL system, and it's great and all, but I'm getting so frustrated at repeatedly failing to kill robo Damien. Any tricks to this that you can share? The snowman and dinosaur took a few attempts but with 30+ attempts for RD, I need some pointers. Got it down to the mini thing a couple of times but only right at the end.

Frustration aside, I really like their addition. Adds extra length to the game and they can be fun. Well probably anything would feel fun seeing as I've waited ten years to play this.

I would definitely suggest using a character you're good with, for starters. Make sure you've got decent speed, but not so much that your handling is too tight.

Using Linda (Goodness, me?!) is a good example.

If you can manage to somehow get in front of Damien, just bomb-shot him backwards until he's dead while keeping your eyes on shots coming at you.

If you're a tag-along behind him, make sure to keep a safe distance between him and you while firing straight down the path, your shots tend not to miss if you do that. (Damien runs along a set path in the robot suit, so he's pretty easy to sum up to shoot.) Also prepare to jump any time he fires back, and weave if you get too close and he drops gears all over the ground. Never get too close or you'll find yourself flat in no time.

Also, do not bother with shortcuts unless you are absolutely sure you will get ahead of him. Wasted time with a shortcut will only be time away from attempting to get shots on him.

Lastly, if you are ahead of him, and he's catching up, veer to a wall and let him pass. A bump on the nose will slow you slightly, but being squished and having to get back up from that will put a lot more time between you and Damien. If you have shots as well, hit him to slightly slow him a moment, it'll give you a chance to move around if there's an opportunity ahead, or if you're trying to stack some hits on him.

He gets to be a pushover after that, really.

Yeah I've been using Slash but the lv.3 speed board since the boss is so fast. Maybe I'll try another one. And I completely forgot you can fire bombs backwards..

        that ought to help. Ta.

Actually the Trick characters I find are better here, though the speed based strategy does work. Linda just loves herself though and will promote herself anywhere, which of course is fine. Sticking with Slash is fine, but I'd try a trick board or balance board

The amount of speed advantage you gain from having a speed fan/rocket makes a speed character less useful because there isnt a great deal of difference. Where as, when you land multiple hits on Damien, you get more time to multi hit him, with a slower character because the faster characters creep up to him sooner and its harder for them to dodge the falling bits and pieces that Damien drops when you hit him.

Of course, Linda told you what to do with a speed character, get in front and attack him :P. You have longer to attack him from infront :).

The shortcut over the hill after the snowballs used to be (avoiding the right hand near 180 like turn) should almost always be taken. The amount of shots you get at him by going the normal way is practically 0 because the turn is too tight and bombs are terrible on tight turns, and more importantly, you are near immune to Damien's attacks while in the shortcut, and you get a clean shot at him.

Oh be aware of when you hit him 10 times, you have to hit him three more times. It's not too difficult to deal with him compared with before but its still something to be mindful of.

Bah, everyone has their own approach to it.

Its been a while since I've faced the blue dude so I can't really go into specifics when it comes to strategy. I've always sticked to just using Slash (I think) on Normal and see where it goes from there. He isn't too hard on Normal, though the shots and the debris can be a pain in the *panned* and it took me a few times on my first matches with him. Expert was ridiculous so I just put Tommy on a Ninja board ^^;.
Finally got a copy of SBK1 after first renting it ages ago.
