So quiet here...

So quiet here...

I can easily atest to the reason I am so quiet, mostly work. It's a shame how much life gets in the way of the things you love.

Regardless, just wanted to let you all know I am still here, haven't left, just haven't seen activity here in a while.

Still checking around here for any sign of activity too, but yeah, I've been quite busy lately. Lots of rushing at work and paperwork that needs to be done. Hopefully it'll get better soon enough.

I'm still around, but I just don't have anything in mind to talk about. I thought maybe posting some doodles here and then, but yeah.

I know that activity usually picks back up around the Winter, usually around January, but it looks like we've got a few people still around, too!\

I'll try to drum up a little more activity. I've already been plotting to add more information to SBK's TVTropes page - it seems somewhat lacking, especially on the Characters page. Each character only has a few tropes to their name!

Need to get my name out there a bit more, always good when I'm recognized. :lindalaugh:

I was playing SBK2 a few days ago and it prompted me to pop back in to say hello. :) I still haven't forgotten about this place. I'm busy with work and school these days.

It's crazy how long ago it's been since I first joined, looking through old threads in the archives. I cringe at how I used to type (but hey, I was only 13 years old back then :damienraspberry: ), but I do remember having fond memories of discussing the games with members that seem to be long gone now. :( I wonder where they are and what they're doing now...

This place in a way was a haven for me, going through the first few years of high school was rather rough, I was very awkward and quiet and had pretty much had no friends. Towards the end I ended up coming out of my shell and made a few good friends (although I hardly see them nowadays) and now I'm studying video game design in college!

Sorry about getting a bit personal there, but I felt like getting that off my chest. It's cool to see there's still some interest and I have so much respect for Linda for keeping this place up and running after all these years. :lindaangel:

I keep the place going even this long because my passion for the game series is still very much alive and kicking.

The game is still spoken about in small bursts, many people miss the game and games like it.

Don't be sorry about getting personal! It was really nice to read that; it brought back memories of my own.

I know what you mean about cringing when looking back at your old posts. I'm 21 in a couple of weeks, so by my reckoning, I was only 11 when I made this place (I don't think I ever admitted to it, though!). I had a fairly rough first few years at high school too, so this place was a great repose for me.

It's a shame the community isn't as strong as it used to be, and I'm sorry for drifting away from it, but as long as we all check in every now and again, there will always be something worth hanging on to (as long as Invisionfree keep hosting us). I have to echo what you said about Linda; the fact that this place is still going owes a lot to her, and I'm very grateful for it.

It seems we'll be 10 years old in September. Maybe we should do something special for it :jamdsgood:

I joined here when I was still in college. Good lord that was a long time ago. Good to see a few members still hanging around.
I met a man once with a dirty hardhat, a pickaxe and a bucket full of coal. He also had overalls and a plaid shirt, a scruffy beard and thick steel toe boots.

But those are just miner details.
