Hey,
I'm SamJJE101, and although I'm new here, I'm no stranger to the forum community. I'll just start by giving an introduction to how I got here. ;D
The first time I heard of Snowboard Kids was many years ago now when I went to my Aunt's house and they were playing their new Nintendo 64. She showed me one of her games that she had called "Snowboard Kids" - her and her boyfriend at the time loved it and played it all the time. I remember seeing him (my Aunt's boyfriend) playing Quicksand Valley and being amazed when he went through the wall of sand, lol. Whenever I went to their house I'd always like to play it, even though I always came 4th.
The following Christmas (they'd gotten an original PlayStation by now) they gave me their Nintendo 64, a few controllers & memory cards and the elusive Snowboard Kids (with box and instructions!) I was so thrilled. From there I played Snowboard Kids everyday throughout the Christmas Holidays. I eventually got really good at it and completed the game. I had some fond memories when playing that. I remember there once was an incident where I accidentally deleted all of my saved data and I threw a massive fit. XD
A couple of years later when I had access to the internet I discovered that there was a Snowboard Kids 2! I found a copy on eBay, and begged my parents to get it. We'd never used eBay before, so it took a lot of convincing, but eventually they came around. I was so excited when the package arrived, I almost screamed! But when I went to put the cartridge into the N64... it wouldn't fit! I didn't know that there were differences between the PAL and the US edition cartridges, I just thought an N64 was an N64. I was SO upset that day.
Some time after that, I found another copy of Snowboard Kids on eBay. if I thought my parents were reluctant the first time, I was wrong. Nothing I could say could convince them to let me get another copy it seemed. Eventually, after several messages with the seller confirming the fact that it was an Australian copy of the game led them to give in and let me get it. When it arrived, it was the Australian copy, and it slid into my now ancient N64 without any trouble. I was so excited, I played it for hours on end that night. I wouldn't have stopped if it wasn't for dinner time. XD
I remember having many dreams about having SBK2 (before I actually got it), dreaming up the courses and such. When I woke up, I'd be so disappointed that it wasn't real. I still remember those dreams to this day.
So I'd completed Snowboard Kids 1 & 2, and my Snowboard Kids obsession was replaced with other things. ._.
But how did I get here? Well I've been messing around with Emulation lately to try to get some games for different game consoles to work on my Computer. I'm still new to the idea, but I think it's magnificent! I was listening to a song and a part of it REALLY reminded me of the music from "Silver Mountain" from the original Snowboard Kids. It sparked the interest in me to play SBK again, but unfortunately now my N64 is most likely inoperable, and even if I did get it to work, it's too cold at this time of year to be sitting in out cold Rumpus Room to play it. So since I'd been messing around with Emulation, I wondered if something like that would be possible for N64! I looked it up, and it turns out it was! I was able to get not only Snowboard Kids 1 & 2 for the N64, but Snobow Kids Plus (Japanese) for the PlayStation and SBK: Snowboard Kids for the DS! I'm yet to play them a lot, but I'm just so thrilled to have them, especially with how rare Snobow Kids Plus is to find it seems.
During my search for Snobow Kids Plus and setting it up (I got so confused it took my two days to set up, lol) I found this site (well, this awesome guide in particular) and decided to join! I've been a member for a few days now and I decided it was about time I introduce myself. So hi, I'm Sam! XD
I'll probably be a crazy person and download all the game music and such now, and eventually buy a full set of all the SBK stuff there is to get when I get a job and get some money, lol. I'm only 14 after all.
So, cya 'round! ^o^
P.S.: LOVE the emotes!
