The forums are slowy dying. and I'm incredibly surprised by this, considering the forums were extremely active around this time last year. I think we need some fresh ideas to inject some life back into these boards. Perhaps an RP maybe?

First off, how would an RP get the forums more active? I think it might work. Second of all, it's New Years, and some are probably spending time with families. (Yeah, I'm a little suprised too. Though we do have more than a hundred members, a lot just register acounts, and then atomatically become inactive.) :sinobininvisible:

maybe we should have another contest? The banner submission was a good one, too bad nobody sent in anything :damienunhappy: should we try again? I mean it is the new year

I'm not accepting any new Contest ideas with such a low fanbase at the moment I'm afraid, after the last contest, it showed that there was not enough interest currently, so I'm more inclined to try a different tactic rather than attempt another contest.

In the case of an RP, that is up to any of you to decide, I have attempted to involve myself in various RPs, only for them to all of the sudden die out on me. I even made an RP of my own, and was willing to continue it, but interest once again waned.

In the case of fresh ideas, I hate to say it, but it seems that Snowboard Kids may have finally been milked for what it is worth in the case of ideas. With Atlus not showing much interest in the series at the moment, and instead toting their RPGs rather than their potentially exciting fun-loving kids.

If anything, I believe the aim now should not be to look for anything "new" to the series, but rather work with what's already available. Anyone can speculate or attempt to design a new idea for an already-made franchise, but it takes a lot of creativity and effort to actually work with the tools given to you, to make that new idea that could potentially draw bigger crowds.

I realize that the above may seem like a bit of rambling, but I truly think that with the exercising of what has already been laid out for us, new storylines, ideas, and much more await us.

I apologize if this has demoralized some of you, though I stand by my words, and I truly believe that while we may not find anything new with Snowboard Kids until new material arrives, we can certainly entertain and work amongst ourselves to make things work.

The last note, and I want everyone to read this very clearly, because I do not want to have to explain myself again...

"If you truly want to try to create something, if you are completely passionate about that which you wish to design, then do it. Do not do it, then drop off that which you worked on, for it takes MUCH more effort to get back into something than it does to set a goal, and attain it."

If thats the case, we can try converting some of some of the previous works. Like turning the RPs and fanfics into manga or something of the sort.

I think this is one of the ways to use already made ideas

That's one of the methods I'm talking about, and I'm glad you understood what I meant.

There's already been some works done before on ideas, whether they're fanfics, comics, anything, we all like SBK for multiple reasons, and through our interests in it, we can create works relating to them.

I was thinking we could have an awards night in the contests sction, like have categories such as 'Friendliest Member' and 'Most Deditcated Member'.

Once again, there's too low of a memberbase for any sort of contest to really be of any merit. If we were to attempt to hold a contest like that, it would simply feel like one stroking their ego, as well as feel more like an episode of Survivor rather than an actual contest.

If you want to do something like that, you're more than welcome to attempt it in the Polls Section, but I don't plan on holding any contests that revolve around members, at least as of yet.

First of all, it's not really a contest, I just thought we should put it in there because it seems the only appropiate place to have such a thing like it.

There is a Polls section for that sort of thing though, Contests though are for long-running events, for an award-night, the same thing can be done in the Polls Section.

Believe me, any artwork or the like relating to the games, characters and the like is completely welcome, the only reason I am not holding any contests or the like is because with such a low member count here, any contests held wouldn't amount to anything.

If anything the following for SBK simply has to find its way here, I know there's a lot of Snowboard Kids fans out in the world, it's just difficult to get them to want to talk more about the series here.

I may hold the occasional contest for sake of some traditional feel, but that is about it until we actually have enough people to merit more of an opinion in contests.

It looks like we'll have to face it: as long as Atlus doesn't release a successful SB3, the board will always appear to be dying.

The fact is, this is a cult board. We're fans of a game series that was unheard of even when it was created back in the N64 days and hasn't had a game (SBKDS doesn't count because it was just a disgrace in general.) since. Heck, even if a SBK3 was made chances would be it wouldn't get much attention and we still wouldn't be able to round up enough fans.

So what do we have to do to bring in more users? The only thing we can is expand the board's interests, or else we'll always have a small community.

Not that any of that is bad, it's just we do have a lack of activity almost all the time...

Well, If SBK3 was announced (though I seriously doubt it would even be called that), the forums would be alot more active. And seriously do you have to be so biased against SBKDS? Sure it was not as good as the others, but calling it a 'disgrace' is just plain bashing it.

If you hate the game so much, why do you even mention it?

I agree, besides, there were a few changes in SBK DS that I didn't mind. Anyways, if we have certain friends on different websites who like SBK, do you think maybe we could invite them to come here to keep this place from dying? They don't have to, it's just my suggestion. :wendyidea:

Here's a suggestion. Make the site easier to find. If I even type up snowboard kids world in google, it's in the seventh page. I honestly stumbled into this site looking for snobow kids plus info.
I met a man once with a dirty hardhat, a pickaxe and a bucket full of coal. He also had overalls and a plaid shirt, a scruffy beard and thick steel toe boots.

But those are just miner details.

Anyways, if we have certain friends on different websites who like SBK, do you think maybe we could invite them to come here to keep this place from dying? They don't have to, it's just my suggestion. :wendyidea:
Boards like this are always going to appear to have a small active member base, it's true in almost every "cult following", especially games like SBK as it was an underrated title.

In short, while we can attract others to the forums, there's two things that will happen from that:

1: They "might" apply, but who says they will stay?

2: Do they really care about SBK to the degree that they will stay at a forum and discuss much about it?

There's not much I can really suggest in the case of attracting more members, they come and go on their own here, and referring people here, while it does bolster our numbers, does not guarantee that the activity here will be boosted.

You can refer, I don't object to it, sometimes new members do have interesting questions to answer, and that of course brings up some conversation.

But that would just lower the member count wouldn't it? Besides we would also be deleting members like Mario Gamer and Baker18, who sometimes check the forums every now and again.

That's not a good idea. It's because of those bots that the site would show up on search engines. It makes little sense to wipe them out.
