It is true because one of the great things about Manhattan is how easy is it to walk down the sidewalk in the avenues and cross streets...

Not always. There are some parts of the city Downtown that get pretty crowded.

How safe is London when it comes to electricity and "live" sidewalks, grates, manhole covers etc?

NYC had a fatality in 2004, and a subsequent inspection found that there were 1,214 stray voltage sites.

How much has NYC improved since 2006 to monitor this, and how is it monitored in London?
