The challenge rules for the Writing Challenges are slightly different from the Graphics Challenges, but are generally the same.
You do not need to include an image code, but you do need to follow the rules the Writing Moderators dictate in the challenge thread. If they want you to wrap your entry in code, you must do so, otherwise you risk disqualification.
No 'in' posts are allowed, unless otherwise stated. An 'in' post is saying 'in' or something along the lines of 'i'll be doing this!' in the thread, but without actually posting your entry. Any 'in' posts will be automatically deleted. However, if you do have a question, you may post it in the challenge thread, of course.
If the challenge allows pre-mades, you may post a pre-made. However, if it doesn't and we find out that you previously made the entry quite before the challenge was ever made, your entry will be disqualified.
Have fun in the writing challenges! These rules are pretty simple. Generally, follow what the challenge thread says, no 'in' posts and [most of the time] no pre-mades. Usually the moderators say this in the challenge threads, but in case they don't, just know that the rules still do apply. (;
