The ocean doesn't decide to storm or to be calm.
It's thrall to the wind.
The wind doesn't decide to blow, it's influenced by the sun.
The sun doesn't decide to shine, we say it is caused by fission, by gravity.
Gravity doesn't decide how to work. It's a phenomena of the universe.
The universe makes no decisions, has no sway. It is the Tao.
The Tao is mystery.

The heart doesn't decide what it feels.
Meditation isn't a means to escape pain. It isn't a way to do or to get anything at all.
Meditation can be given space to happen. Whatever happens is like the Tao.

The edges of the heart crinkle, its skin blisters.
Eddies of pain and fear rise to storm.
And so the heart is stormed.

On the ocean waves rise and fall, water holds no shape.
It can be whipped to violence, it can be still and clear.

Love means acceptance.
To love pain, to accept it.
The heart beats.

Denying, or attempting to escape pain closes one off from the Tao.
Given sufficient space, acceptance happens automatically.
The ocean decides nothing, it accepts everything.
Its hardness stems from its softness.
A paradox. A mystery.

Love this Water. Especially: "The heart doesn't decide what it feels.
Meditation isn't a means to escape pain. It isn't a way to do or to get anything at all.
Meditation can be given space to happen. Whatever happens is like the Tao."
