Am I reading this correctly? Guys like Aaron Jackson from Cass Tech, and Theo Day from Divine Child were available to play and we're not picked. Instead they went with a guy from Mayville, Millimgton, and Mott? Please tell me I have this wrong because that makes no sense.

I don't know if you can play if you are an early enrollee, I believe it depends on the college.

Coaches were allowed to take one kid per school.  Other thing is not every big time college is giddy about their signees playing in All Star games.  One other thing, certain kids might have said they were not interested in playing in it also, it is what it is.  I am sure the kids who are playing in it are excited for it.

if a player is nominated isn't it safe to assume all that? If a college wouldn't let them play, why would they be nominated? If a kid didn't want to play, why would they be nominated?

Nominations were do long before the final signing day. Most top level guys don’t play in summer all star games anymore.

What do you mean anyone can be nominated by anyone? I thought the head coach nominated his own players.

When exactly does the nominating process start? Some of those players have been committed for a long time.

There was something online I believe, people could nominate players, think I heard 700-800 players were nominated, the nominees were then given to the coaching staff that will be doing the game, the coaching staffs then picked 35 players for each roster to make the rosters.

Are the very top recruits from across the state playing in the game? No, because of various reasons already given.  Are there some pretty good players on the rosters? Yes, just take a look at the rosters. A few D1 guys, lots of D2 signees, some NAIA players, some players going to go play D3.  Don't know everyone else's circumstances that don't have a college listed but I know at least one will probably play D3 and is getting some interest from NAIA schools and smaller D2 schools.

Players have to be nominated by their HC, who must be a member of the MHSFCA for the nomination to be considered.
