Good info and good game. Algonac has made some noise in D5 recently.

MCC schedule not getting any easier however....

Well, I believe Hopkins thumped them in JV football pretty good last year?

I believe the Cassopolis game was scrapped. MCC still needs a week 5 game.

It looks like Eau Claire is going to have a team this year

Few ppl who would know assured me that the Cass game is a go for MCC. They are doing some honoring the troops night down there that MCC has already committed to be part of.

That sets the MCC at a full nine. If they win all their conference games, that’s four wins. I would think they have a fair (50/50) shot to beat Algonac, Cass and newaygo. ND prep might be a bad match up. Benton harbor a complete wildcard by week 8.

can anyone confirm that MCC is playing Cassopolis week 5?

one website has the two teams playing this year....which would mean Cassopolis cancelling their game against Eau Claire in order to play MCC

Eau Claire might actually NOT be fielding a varsity team this year, since their week 7 game against Centreville has already been cancelled also..........Centreville picked up Three Oaks River Valley now in week 7

MHSAA website shows cassoplis with nine games including mcc week five. I prefer this website as the athletic departments have to confirm games with MHSAA.

I just saw in the Manistee paper that the Chips return 10 starters on offense

I think a great way to make the west Michigan area small school conferences much more competitive and balanced through out the entire conference not just football but all sports including girls. In my newly created conferences I will be combining the Lakes 8 and West Michigan Conference plus add fruitport and spring lake back from their respected OK conferences. Personally West Michigan conference sounds better than lakes 8 so just from this arguement they will be called west Michigan conference (a) and west Michigan conference (b).
West Michigan conference (a)
Whitehall, Montague, Spring Lake, Fruitport, Oakridge, Muskegon Catholic Central, West Michigan Christian, and Ludington.

West Michigan conference (b)
North Muskegon, Muskegon hts, Manistee, Mason county central, Shelby, Hart, Orchard View, and Revenna.

I struggled with Orchard View and Ludington but collectively over all sports the last ten years Orchard view has just plummeted not just their football program. After thinking of that with Ludingtons recent state finals in basketball and spring lake making deep runs in the tournament makes me want to see them play a few times a year again. With their success lately even though it may be up and down with football made it easier to make the flip. Probably never will happen but just think over the last ten years these conferences would be a lot more competitive than the ones we have now with MCC winning every game in football because OV has forgotten who they were and Montague oakridge passing the title back and forth is like spring lake and fruitport before mcc came.
Thoughts opinions?
