I'm assuming it's standard swiss but I'm not sure, you said you looked at plaid hat tournament stuff, what does the day look like?

It'll be standard swiss unless we have particularly low numbers, in which case we may do round robin. Swiss is the standard for Ashes Organized Play.

The detestable individual day or is there a cut with more people? I'm only used to netrunner at this point.

It's handled pretty much the same as Netrunner. Swiss with no cut for lower numbers, cut if there's a lot. I don't foresee us pulling enough people to require a cut though.

Will that be every Thursday or just specific ones? Only asking because it's not on the weekly events calendar.

We haven't nailed down a consistent date yet aside from Saturdays after 12:00, since we tend to be at the store then. Working on finding a consistent spot and setting it up with Shane for the calendar. Thus far Thursdays have been less crowded and easier than other days for people to get to, but it's not set in stone.

I actually won't be able to make it tonight because work needs me, but that doesn't mean other people won't.

I'm likely working late, it'll be around 7:30 for me. I'll update this post if that changes.

Thanks to everyone involved for a great tournament, thanks to Demetri for running it and several members of the AE staff for doing first five checks. I thought it was a great turnout for our first tournament and hopefully we can get more of them up and running soon.

Happy to do it, looking forward to putting more together in the future! If anyone's got feedback I'd love to hear it, either in the thread or PM'd.

FYI my work schedule got moved around, but I'll still be able to show up at 5:30 this Thursday for some Ashes. Gotta get some use out of this alt-art Rin!

We've got a preview for Victoria and her unique card!

http://www.plaidhatgames.com/news/712

Having a card that cycles back into your deck is really interesting. It means there are now 3 characters that essentially have a 12 die pool: Rin, Victoria, and Orrick. Hers needs a main and side action though.

Ah but you can choke Victoria and orrin, which could hurt them quite a bit, Orrick has to pay dice and Victoria would lose a wolf, actually now I'm wondering if you can use that maeoni card to block Rin's fury...Better always target a pheonixborn...

Looking at veil it would stop all of fury if the opponent targets a unit, so it's important to ask what the target is.

Leo preview's up, and there is a LOT to unpack here: http://www.plaidhatgames.com/news/713

Summon Glow Finch costs a basic and a side action to create a wall of text, I mean, bird. It blocks attacks and abilities from hitting your other units, it mills 1 when it dies, and you can shuck alterations to refresh it. That's a LOT of potential for an obnoxious blocker. Good thing you can only get one per round (typically), otherwise it would be stupid.

Anguish is...strong. Strong strong strong. A main and 2 basic to force two painful choices on the opponent: toss a random card or take two damage, then exhaust two dice or take two damage. This is amazing no matter how you slice it, but I see it at its best at the end of round 1 when your opponent's resources are dry. People playing against Leo are going to have to keep a card and dice unused specifically to avoid getting nuked for 4 damage. Yikes.

Victoria seems alright, but Leo's amaaaaazing so far. Looking forward to more.

Hey guys,

This is Erik from the tournament last Saturday. I'm usually at AE on Saturdays sorting cards and can always take a break to play a game or two. As of right now I'll be there this coming Saturday, but unfortunately my expansions won't be here until early next week.
